Anyone know where I could buy a chunk of "gunsmith" M1913 rail in steel? I don't care if it's finished or in the white, length should be about 6".

I also don't care if the bottom is already contoured to somethign else as I can machine it flat.

Looking for inexpensive too, so not a Kyle Precision SIG mount or something that would be a waste to machine intop a basic rail section.

I checked - they are all either discontinued or out of stock.

I just acquired an AR180B2 where the previous owner removed the factory dovetail and had an aluminum rail screwed on. I'd like to remove that one and have a proper steel rail welded on permanently.

We just got some steel 1913 blank rails. An 18" length from PRI that's $199, and a 7" length that's $89.

@ TSE_Justin:

Do you have a pic of the rails? Are htey in the white or parked? How tall?

Both are in the white, the 7" is 10mm from bottom of the blank to the top, while the 18" measures 13.47mm.

I should also mention, the bottom of the 7" has two spots where the gunsmith tested if the rail could be blued (checking what type of finish was on it).

What type of picture are you looking for?

7" should be more than adequate, I should think. No pic necessary if it's just a blank 1913 rail in the white - exactly what I need. I assume it was chromoly steel and not stainless? I need it to take parkerizing.

Can you pls PM what I need to do to purchase? I don't see a part number on the TSE website.

Cheers.
