Hello All,

Just doing a poll to all you Open 9mm Major IPSC shooters.

What are you currently using for reloads:

bullets?
Powder?
OAL?

This is interesting. Did you visit the dark side? If so, is it my fault?
You should pm Eugene. He'll have and Autocomp load.

9mm major

been into the dark side for more than 2 years and the same load with more that 10000 rounds

7.0 gr longshot at 1.160 on a 124 gr frontier----AIM---cam-pro---hornady hap
small rifle primer---sometime small pistol andd it works

the only addition--- my Mclearn extra long firing pin CGG side mounts

What pf did you get with 7.0 gr, and what is your barrel length?

Would this be considered a +P+ load for us non IPSC shooters??

that would be a load that you would not want to pick up off the range floor and run it thru your out of the box gun, might not blow up but it would be intresting for the shooter...

i have just recently gone to playing with the dark side, and right now i'm playing with 6.1gr long shot with 124gr aim, not sure of OAL, and not sure of power factor, will find out tomorrow when i crono them,,

found it really nice out of my glock 17 with extended barrel and comp. strait shot.. had it up too 6.7gr of longshot but it was all over the target at 7meters. 6.0 was nice . hope the powerfactor is nice..

have heard up to 8.0 with longshot.

at 7.0 i got pf at 167 atm montreal indoor challenge laast year
and 7.2 got me 172 pf
and my test reveal the same power factor using a Chrony

i have a STI std and cone comp 5 in
i use remington +p brass
the best is than i shot 10000 round with no jam -----better that any 38 super that i know of in QC

9MM major

i think it is more than +p+ load

So where does everyone buy their Hodgdon Longshot powder in the Hamilton area?

I am looking for "Loudshot" as well. I see that the only source in ON are Ellwood Epps carry them as well as Higginsons. Tried calling Le Baron - Mississauga today. They dont have it.
Lawrys at Caledonia might have them.

Anyone know where to get Vectran SP2 in Ontario? I heard they work well on 9-major.

SP2 dropped out of the american market after bush insulted the French. i have tried for years even offering to import it with no luck from them/

So, help a new guy out here. Wouldn't running 9mm major kick the #### out of your gun over the long term? It seems like pretty hot loads to be running through a 9mm.

Pretty hot load for a stock/production gun. The 9-major loads will not only kick the #### of an ordinary gun, but potentially blow your bbl.
The 9-major load being discussed in this thread is specific for an open/compensated bbl gun.
