For 99.9% of us shooting sports are a hobby. Few people have the time to commit to such an endevour. Hell, how many people find they have the time to even shoot as much as they'd like to?

In this game you'll rarely find enough people willing to put in effort. That's why often the guys who do "step up" end up burned out. Many guys think showing up is all they have to do... Or at least they think by showing up they've
really done something, well... Showing up is easy.
I think there's a segment of the action shooting community that thinks matches just appear as if out of ether... They're oblivious to what has to go on behind the cutain in order for them to show up, shoot and avoid the patch guns as they gave you herpes.
Maybe just better to forget the idea, someone else will likely do it, right?
Forgetting the idea will help you sleep better, but... I doubt someone else will pick up the torch.
I bet most guys reading this thread hope something 3-gun takes off so they'll have an opportunity to do some runnin' an' gunnin', but very few will to lift a finger to help.
Basically people, myself included are selfish. I find the longer I'm in this game the more selfish I'm becoming.
If given the choice between planning, setting up, administering, MDing/ROing a match and say...
Loading up the truck with guns/ammo, grabbin' some Dead Tims and making a road trip to an awsome venue for an awsome 3-gun match with a couple buddies... What would you do?
I'll take door #2 every f***in' time.
That said... If I do put a 3-gun match together this year I'll be sure to post details on CGN.
If 100 people sign up and
show up I'll eat my clipboard.
My guess is the only show ups will be out of the pool of guys who have come to all the multi guns I've had a hand in or the ODPL has held.
But hey... WTF do I know. Don't listen to me... I'm a "the glass is half empty" kind of guy most of the time.
