Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this rifle. Looks like a handy good looking gun. 18 inch barrel, 30-30. Any pros or cons? How's the fit and finish? Searched the forum but couldn't find any reviews.

Thanks

What is it that's wrong with the rifle?

My 45/70 came with nothing less than an ammo feeding problem, which was an easy extractor fix, the rear flip up site is bent AND the front site is about 5 degrees to the left of centre. For something I bought NIB, it's a POS...
I'm positive it will be a fine rifle once these problems are fixed, but my point is there's no reason for a brand new rifle to have to go back for warranty issues straight from the factory....'nough said

My latest comms with Gravel Agency have been less than encouraging. They tell me the gun is basically fu(&ed and that they'll be replacing it. Now the sticker....they estimate a delivery of no earlier than June....lots of lessons to be learned here

Right now you really have to have one in hand before you make a decision. I had to go through 5 rifles at a store before I found one that did not have obvious defects and problems. The big loop on one rifle was so sharp I cut my hand, another had the front sight drilled and tapped off centre. Until marlin gets a grip on their production quality control, you can not buy a marlin sight unseen...you have to go over it before you buy it.

I bought one last year and the rear sight was broken and the buttstock wiggled even with the screws tightened. It went back to Gravel and I had it back in hand fixed in 10 days.
