Hi all,
I purchased a Winchester P14 from a fellow CGN member that was originally owned and restored to era original by louthepou, and I just wanted to comment that I am very impressed with the workmanship that he put into this rifle. He had a thread on the restoration process posted (I can't seem to find it now), that I followed with great interest, never dreaming that I would end up being the owner of this rifle down the road. The repairs are hardly noticeable, they look like they are FTR, plus she is one accurate shooter! It's nice to see a craftsman that takes such pride and skill in rescuing these old warhorses from Bubba!!!
Bravo, brother...keep up the excellent work!!!

Sheesh! If you keep talking this way about Lou, those of us who know the man will have never hear the end of it. ;) He's just a regular guy. You know, his feet actually do touch the ground and he puts his pants on one leg at a time.

I totally agree :)

When I'm sober? :D

I'm quite happy to see that this P14 ended up in the hands of someone who can enjoy shooting a fine rifle and appreciate the history behind it. I wonder if it's this one:

I have to add that all I'm doing, I learned from many others who were kind enough to share their tremendous knowledge with me... so I'm just using someone else's knowledge and skill... and am happy to, in turn, share it with others.

lou do you restore civilain rifles as well?

yep, got my first rifle from him (enfield sporter)....and will be sending him a O/U shotgun shortly to have him use his special ninja refinishing skills on the wood.

A+ guy Louis is!

I have to attest to Lou's prowess at refurbing the old work horses. I had him redo two 1918 Enfields for me. One was a very special Enfield in .410 and it turned out excellent. It is now a family heirloom and will be passed to my grandson. The other was a .303 cal and shoots like a dream.
