what are you guys using this year i got some hevi 13 #5 shot to try this year from what i hear thy are the best shell out there for turkeys . i have been using all kinds of shells over the years and have found very good results from fedarel flight control and rem premier turkey loads . when i is my girls turn to shoot we always go back to the old imperial high brass shells in 2 .75 inch . thy ^pattern very well and do not have the recoil of the 3.5 inch shells .what are you guys having luck with as far as shells DUTCH

Flight control;3"/#5 shot/12ga works great.Choke is a Remington ported Turkey choke.Tightest pattern I have got.

Got a new gun this year, so I have to find a new load. Thinking about trying the flight control stuff. Seems to work well in other loads.

Yes - I've used the Federals in 2 3/4 in with excellent results (ie 21 lb turkey on my first hunt) They are expensive, but you tend not to use a lot - its not like duck hunting. I patterned them against some old Winchester Super X #4 - they were substantially tighter, and a better pattern as well!
I bought them because I have a nice old 2 3/4 Wingmaster with a fixed full choke that I wanted to use.

I'm using the same shells. They pattern and kill well. They aren't cheap though.

I use Winchester Supreme Elite 6's also. I bought 5 or 6 boxes a couple years ago, after the season, when Walmart had them on sale for $5/box. Will last me a long time...:D

Here is 3 targets of Hevi 13 3inch #6 with a Pure Gold choke

Not bad for a 20 gauge at 40 yards :sniper:

I killed my last big tom at 25 yards with a 7/8oz load of #6 shot over 18.2grains of promo. Not really any recoil but my full chjoke on the baikal took his face off. This year ima use my 10ga with 2 1/4 oz #6 of what ever I can find. Need to hunt something with it to justify bringing it home
