Brantford

USPSA matches have different divisions and different rules, so the USPSA matches are as much IPSC matches as IDPA matches are IPSC matches.

How many members in each Area in Canada and how many votes do they each get?

USPSA is as close to IPSC as IPSC wants to be to USPSA.
Come and shoot USPSA, maybe then you will see.

You are lost with second question.

It prevents any single section (for example Ontario with more than 50% of the members in Canada) from controlling the agenda. I honestly don't see it as an issue...
I don't either, but some people here say USPSA has over 50% of the world's IPSC shooters, and they expect IPSC to allow the USPSA to control the world agenda. As far as I can tell, the ROTW doesn't want to be a subsidiary of the USPSA (and neither does IDPA or many other organizations).

You know I thought that was possible on the first day........and the second day. That was until I noted that everyone else was in the tent.
Did you attend the match to see where the Pres ate his lunch and which loo he used, or were you there to shoot? I really can't believe you're making an issue out of where the Pres had lunch. No, wait, I can believe.

I would actually LOVE Canada to fall under the umbrella of USPSA.
No more excuses. Make it happen! If you don't like IPSC's current system, and if you don't think the system can be changed, then the only choices left are "Take it or leave it", right? I can't think of any other idea.

A man of your considerable fame, influence and determination in Canada must be able to convince all of IPSC Canada (or the Ontario Section) to quit IPSC. Emulate your name and be a Stormbringer! We had People Power twice in the Philippines, so why not in Canada? Stop the corruption and nepotism! Destroy the infidels!

I can see it now. The Democratic People's Practical Shooting Federation of Ontario. President Mr. Stormbringer. Public Relations Mr. Madness and Mr. Gambit. Director of Pithy Remarks Mr. Orange Boy. The Token Nice Guy Mr. Quigley. I'm so happy that my Political Science Studies in college are finally paying off.

Don't worry, I'm only joking. I'm sure you'd prefer to keep complaining and not do anything, and that is your right. My husband often reminds me of Dirty Harry's quote "A man's gotta know his limitations". Yours is EESA and mine is Action Air, but I'm still happy with my lot in life, and I hope you are too.

Who here has said that should be the case? Certainly not I.
In fact I proposed a Senate to prevent such from happening.

No I was indeed there for more than shooting. Heck if you look at the amount of time we actually spend pulling the trigger it is obvious. I was there for the whole experience. I learned to eat catfish when I normally do not even eat fish in Canada. I learned to drink Bourbon with the coaching of some nice Americans. Oh and I have never seen so many butterflies in one place in my entire life. It is the friends and camaraderie that that is the big appeal. I met R/Os from the Netherlands (my ancestral home) as well as Argentina, Ireland, Estonia, Italy to name a few. The problem was an appearance of distance from 'the people' which does not have good optics.
The President of a grassroots organization should be seen among the membership to as much a degree as possible.

Or keep tilting at those windmills...............

The problem with that scenario is most people are at best apathetic. Which of course puts us where we are today.

It has happened before...........

Actually my efforts do go beyond EESA. If you ventured out of this forum here you would see that.

Like I said, I have no idea why the Pres didn't have lunch with everyone else, but I know that Vinny has attended the last four World Shoots and God knows how many other big matches, without an airfare subsidy, but he didn't get to fire a single round and neither did the pres. They went to the range each day, they chatted with numerous people for about 2 hours, they solved a few problems, then they returned to the hotel to do IPSC work.

Just becoz there's a match on doesn't mean the rest of the IPSC world stops operating.

If you want to know more, ask Vinny. I've never known him to be anything other than (sometimes brutally) honest giving answers to questions. I'm not his Press Secretary, but I can't sit idly by when people with less information than me criticize people I love and respect, no matter how many barbs or masturbation icons are tossed at me.

Or keep tilting at those windmills.........
I call it as I see it. There are only three options in life when you don't like something: accept it, change it or walk away from it. Nirvana does not exist and the world runs on compromise. Nobody ever gets exactly what they want. I'd like fairer skin, bigger boobs and longer legs, but I accept what God gave me, and I get on with my life.

:)

If you want to know more, ask Vinny.
There must be some confusion.....it was not Vinny I was speaking about. I had hoped that Vinny was going to attend that match. Perhaps if I got to know him as a human being and vice versa we would not have these problems.

I call it as I see it.

A trait we share......

I never compromise......

I am an athiest......but you can buy bigger boobs...legs can be a bit of a problem.LOL

then we call in our super secret delta hacker force (the tin foil berets) to aid in the coup to remove the dictator and install our own puppet regime into command.w:h:w:h:w:h: The best part about the TFB is that they work for xbox live points and redbull.

ALL YOUR FORUM ARE BELONG TO US

Comprimise???????????
Did the Americans comprimise when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbour? Hell NO!
Did Captain Picard comprimise when the sith tried to destory the Galactica? Hell NO! f:P:
Did Rudy comprimise when they said he was too small to play for Notre Dame? I think not.
Game..........Set.....................Match.............. :owned:

Really? REALLY? That explains a lot.

Does that mean Vinny MUST run the GV 100% your way but, if he refuses (which is a certainty), then what?

.

No that means that you, Vinny and everyone else must convince me that your postion is correct before I am on side. If I think you are WRONG I will not give in.

Convince me using LOGIC and REASON not force........

Unfortunately GV is run under a rule of Force not Reason.

Did the Americans comprimise when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbour?
No, but they #####ed and moaned when the Japs invaded Poland.

OK, now I understand. The mountain must go to Mohammed. The tail wags the dog. Your Dutch heritage is showing. My only hope is that the GV can survive without you.

So you are admiting that you are incapable of using REASON instead of FORCE? Is that it? If so it is a sad commentary.

I actually think that Vinny is in fact capable of doing so. He has proven many times that he is intelligent and capable in debate. In particular when it comes to defending his position in terms of the rules of how the game is played.

If anything he only falls to force when it comes to questions of a political nature.

It's not a matter of force, it's a matter of structure. At the GV, if the Admin has power to ban people he thinks should be banned, based on his assessment, then it is what it is. If you don't agree, that's up to you, but just becoz you don't agree with their system doesn't make it wrong.

Same deal as always - change it, take it or leave it.

I don't agree that people should be able to insult women here by posting masturbation icons, but I live with it. I don't go crying to Momma Admin to demand she ban the offender or remove the icon. When I'm here, I'm subject to the rules here, and how they're applied. If I can't handle the heat, I'll get out of the kitchen, but I'm a big girl and nobody here can make me cry. I do get disgusted with the immaturity of some members but, if they don't want to grow up, that's their problem, not mine.

With respect, Mr. Stormbringer, you don't hold a monopoly on righteousness or knowing what's right or wrong, and you're not Emperor of the world. Other people do things differently. If you think there's only one right way to do things, that would be arrogance of the highest order.

Opinions vary and so do systems.

And this brings us back again to the crux of the problem! The Global Village is the Official IPSC Forum, and one person should not have the power to sway, close topics, or otherwise ban members on a whim! Issues and topics that are deemed important to the IPSC membership, should be allowed to run their course without undue influence by one IPSC member.

Just curious...but why do you even need to go there?
