Stuff that happens to vehicles at hunt camp

That's not a tree.
This is a tree.

Wow humanity is doomed. I am pro-environment (in the sense, I would never do harm to anything in the bush purposely, i pick up more trash on my way out then i bring into the area, and don't shoot trees for target practice, etc to respect the areas I frequent)....but wow that's too much.

Did it attract hippies wailing for the dead tree?

$1700 in damages. Didn't bother the jeep much after We cut up the tree for firewood.

Door still opened too.

Used it for the rest of the 2 weeks hunt.

At the time we were staying at a shack in a trailer park. So those poplars were planted in sand. A high wing down the lake took it down in the night.

Didn't make a sound, or I couldn't hear it over the snoring.

Lets see, Two flat tires within ten seconds, busted rear window in my van, tree falling on Jeep, differential failure on Van, catalytic converter plugged.
another bigger tree missed my vehicle by two inches one year.
Busted tow straps towing other folks (Don't use hooks guys, just don't)

But you know, I've never been seriously stuck, and yeah, I've got a firm clamp on the wood desk when I say that.

Other guys..
Dented bumpers, bent trailers, One guy slid down a hill on the drive, right through the corner, and if he hadn't hit a tree, would likely be either upside down, or in the lake.
Ford (in the pic) had a computer failure that resulted in being floated out of camp.
Certain CGN member got towed to camp with an in tank fuel pump failure, and found the local garage could fix it at a tenth the price the shop at home could.
We welded up an oil pan with battery cables and coat hangers once, (long time back that one) Had a guy with a Ford Granada that got stuck just everywhere, maybe five times in one week.
Rescued a Buick Wildcat from a beaver pond. (same guy as above)

It's a long list.

Hunting ain't cheap, but I love it.

How about you guys?

That is some bad luck that you guys have had. My buddy was coming back from a long day of walking the trails in search of rabbit or grouse. He had his shotgun , but his son had a .22. They pretty much struck out with their hunt and the son was bugging dad to let him rip off a few rounds. Since they were almost back to the truck the dad decided to let his son play around a bit and fire of a few. The end result was that they somehow managed to hit their own truck that they thought was just around the NEXT CROPS OF WOODs.
