Sorry to bring this topic back up but has anyone heard from or received their M14's back from the Dr? He's had mine since July of last year and the last correspondence I've had with him was at the beginning of December when he said that my m14 was completed and would be shipped the following week. I've not received it yet and he's not responding to my emails or voice messages.

this is so unlike m14 doctor....

Lindstradt. I got my stock from him a while ago. He had some problems with new products used in the finishing of the stocks. Honestly, the good Doc' has some issues keeping in touch, but his product is top notch. Keep in mind that, he has a life, just like ours, and some times #### happens to us, as does #### happen to Thomas. Everyone Be cool. We need a where's Doc' sticky lol, every few weeks a post pop's up. He isnt shady and isnt screwing people. Implying such things will make him stop doing this work.

I got mine back this week, so rest assured that he IS on top of things and I'm sure will have yours en route soon, if not already.

thanx for that Matt

i do indeed have some issues with keeping people updated..... but i do also figure that after all these years on this site and all the business i have done without ripping anyone off....... and that i've reiterated numerous times on cgn that i'm behind...... having troubles balancing in shop time with internet time and then there is the many things i've had to deal with in my real life..... truck freezing solid, no vehicle for 3 weeks, a few grand to repair the damage, christmas and new years and all the family stuff i had to do which meant putting all work on hold...... and then the few days i took just for me and the wife at new years........
I'm not whining, nor am i complaining but i have not been hiding from CGN and that should be an indicator that even though some items are behind..... every customer i have should rest assured they are in good hands. I cancelled and refunded the 3 rd batch stock orders as soon as i realized there was some problems. If your initials in the real world are N.G. and you are waiting on rifle and stock, the trigger parts have finally arrived and i'll be addressing your build next.

I really do not want to see another one of these threads..... at this moment i have 73 customers with work on my plate or inbound or in the mail being return shipped...... I apologize for the fact that i just can't keep up with week by week progress reports by email, even though the item may be behind. I have also posted in my sigline that response time to email/pm may be slow

KNOW this , when your item ships, i will email you with the tracking. The final 4 stocks i have here are very near completion and i have one rifle here that has been here since April and it's parts finally have been gathered as well..... so even though it's owner hasn't contacted me in months...... it will be priority one this weekend, and i'll do my damndest to get the remaining stocks out the door once she is finished.

I kinda do things in the order they came in with rifles taking priority.... may not be a perfect system for everyone but it is the way i have had to do things since october when the rifles with "issues" started to pile up.

do not feel disrespected, taken advantage of or ignored, but know that i am doing the very best work i can on every individual work order that is crossing my bench.

and that's all i'm gonna say on this whole topic.

no problem. you put up with my attitude lol, least I can do right
Love the stock, got my stock on, and everything painted up..Lookin to find a new grip tho, dont like that cheep feeling.

i was meaning to send you out a freebie hogue grip in tan but i haven't been back to dlask in a few weeks to pic up my orders.
email them and see if they have any left ;)

Sounds like you need an extra hand/apprentice doc! Too bad you're not on the coast anymore. I'm sure there would be many that would love to learn from you and help you out.

despite what these threads imply..... I am nearly caught up on all the work that was behind. The only folks that are kinda pissed at me right now are those wo's orders involve the new stocks....... and thier disappointment with progress is understandable.... can't fault them for feeling that way.

as for an apprentice....... if i am still doing this come the end of this school year, a local CGN'er is retiring from his teaching job and has expressed much interest in coming and working with me. Despite the internet "where is m14 doctor threads" and the impression they give the rest of the community here, who may decide to not use my services due to these threads.......... there is no end to the demand for what i am doing...... my email inbox is just crazy. I am also now seeing a lot of would be clients that have come by referral, many from folks who's rifles or stocks were very late but in the end they were impressed enough to pass my info on to a friend.

so by and large, I feel good about what i do at the end of the day, but getting behind is no fun, a great big head ache.... However, if you are paying me good money to transform your rifle from a box stock chinese rifle to an accurized rifle, full shorty or fitted to a custom stock....... it won't leave my bench as "good enough" , even if this means i replace parts at my cost due to the delay your rifle might endure. So far to date i have replaced at no cost, trigger assemblies and internals, firing pins, extractors, entire barrel assemblies, gas cylinders........ incurred shipping costs ordring many of those parts, purchased entire new rifles and pilfered them for said parts.......... and at the end of the day, your rifle gets the treatment it deserves for the money you have paid.
I made an error in the beginning of all this when most of the rifles were arriving with no real major issues and my spare parts bin was reasonably full all around. Quoting 6 to 8 weeks on rifle work was short sighted on my part..... and this is what has caused the major problems for people. Most folks currently booking work are well aware of the threads with my name in them and are well aware that i may not be able to adhere to my afformentioned 6 to 8 week timelines.

the scrambling to get rifles out the door is all that is really getting in the way of me pounding out the last few stocks that had issues with fianl finishing and a couple with action fitment issues that were minor but meant refinishing the exterior to be repainted.

anyhow....... the number of guys currently waiting is about 7 out of all the clients i currently have on the books..... so i am making progress. I have my intake structured so as to not have these issues arise in the future..... but i can't promise ya all. however i don't think a sticky would be needed...... that's up to the mods i suppose :D

Thank you for your explanations Thomas. That's enough for me and you can get offline with peace of mind. I'll wait patiently. We like your magic!

I wish you a good and honest helper/apprentice this summer.

And that retiring school teacher ain't me YET! :D My son is applying to post graduate studies and I cannot retire (read: Freedom 75) for a long while.

M14Doctor is right when he cannot find reliable/knowledgeable workers that he has to bring up to speed (read: turn out the quality YOU deserve and paid for) YET. Good work is worth waiting for. Too many variables when running a one man show and I'm glad he's here for me to send work (other M14 lovers...) to!

I cannot do the work (as if anybody's asking) because I ain't insured nor am I a qualified gunsmith, so he stepped up many years ago! Go easy on him! :D

Oh yeah, thanks for your patience!

Cheers all... Now I better continue packing for the M14 Clinic in Barrie tomorrow....

Barney

Barny, damn right get packing lol. dont be late, Im leaving lindsay at frickin 6 30 cuz the gf is worried about "weather" baaa, i learned to drive in the snow lol. Thomas, I'll shoot them an email, thanks for the freebi grip. And everyone else, be cool lol. its worth the wait. I drove the Doc' nuts with emails for a while, kinda turned into a women lol. just wish I could test out all the new goodies

The Doc is a good man, I have had the privilege of meeting him. If you have never tried to do business as a one man show you cant possibly understand the amount of time it takes especially when on top of your regular work load you are developing new products. Then there is all the time involved in shipping items and keeping track of all of that end of business. Thomas will not screw anybody I am 100% confident in that.
