So when will we be seeing a new rule book?

With the recent 'Rule Addendum' and the various rules clarifications since the last edition I think it is definitely time for a new handbook.

I thought the 125pf was low to begin with....105:eek:, that is barely enough to function a semi auto,..glad it is for revolver.

I think the current thinking is to issue addendums that are added to the ruled book (I have mine inserted where they fit in the rule book). At some point HQ will no doubt issue a revised addition. The rule book and addendums are all posted on HQ and the IDPA Forum and are available to all IDPA members to download and print.

I think you kow there is a growing trend to use electronic access and avoid hardcopy and mass mailings if they can be avoided.

Maurice the reason for the change was the fact virtually no .38spl ammunition made power factor of 125 out of a 4.2" revolver. In recent tests the highest PF achieved was 118 I am told, with a low of 95 and this is from factory .38 Spl ammo.

All well and good but I don't want to be on the range match day dealing with a bunch of loose sheets of paper - downloaded or otherwise.

It is time to issue a new rulebook. With the money they are going to be saving by not mailing out the TJ they can surely afford a new handbook!

IF they are that worried about the money forget the fancy cover and keep it plain-jane.

I'd have no problem paying $5 for a printed hardcopy....I'm sure others would agree.

For now, I've inserted the addendum into my rule book and starred the relevent parts with pen.

Good idea Bob. I am going to do that. I have been very lazy lately. Didn't even use score sheets for the last few club IDPA shoots! :(

As long as the guys had fun!

Sometimes I have to scratch together some stages 1 hour before, for the most part, it turns out great.

Onagoth, that's what I do. Night before is the earliest I ever get them done. Procratination is what I'm good at. That and eating.

For the first two years all we used were printed Classifier sheets. They worked ok in a pinch.

JMJ I wish I could say I was a good procrastinator but I keep putting off my practice sessions to ever get skilled at it.:D

Matt I'll pass your comments on to Robert Ray on Tuesday. If he gives me a date for a new printing I'll post it on our forum.
