I did a thread search but couldnt find if there is an economical copy of the Elcan with good optics and reticle but dont need the tritium. I've seen the Airsoft copies and wondered if there was something to take the AR recoil?:canadaFlag:

You will hear many tales of there airsoft scopes performing well on there AR's ,You must realize this that they will fail so buyer beware.

Why would anyone want a clone of an Elcan?

Well what i talking about is "good" glass quality, no illuminated reticle but the same sight for my M4orgery. Its like saying, who wants a Schmidt and Bender 10X tactical @ $1900 when the Bushnell Elite 3200 10x tactical@ $ 236 is all one can afford and all i really need. The Bushnell could be considered a copy of a much more expensive scope.( Scopes and prices only for making a point and may not actually exist)I was just wondering if there was one that looks like an Elcan, without the high quality and tritium. I know they exist for Airsoft and they looked nice outside and through the reticle.
Probaly haven't cleared up "why", except to say "price".

Thanks for telling me not to waste my money on the Airsoft ones. I'm sure even an NcStar at half the cost of that clone is probaly 10 times better.:)

Ebaybanned has them from normal factory. It should not be Bad, I would try it propably nothing worser then Leapers scope

Unless you have a pressing need for a sight that looks like an Elcan, there are other sights that would likely be more satisfactory. Most brand name makers offer competent low powered variables.

?

Why would anyone want a clone of an Elcan?

why would anyone want an elcan in the first place? Big and clunky with a reticle the size of a horses c**k that covers up a man sized target at 100 yrds, not to mention the ugliest sight you can get on the market.

For all the armchair critics that are about to try and tell me I dont know anything, I take an elcan off my C7A1 every single time I go into the field for 1 RCR

You haven't been to the field in awhile if your taking a C7A1.:D

What would you recommend in its place?

Something good. ;)

Check out the Vortex Crossfire series of scopes. I've heard good things about them, and they're very reasonably priced.

But the real question is what rifle are you putting this on? Is it a Norc AR-15 clone? What are you going to be using it for? These are all things that we need to know in order to recommend something that will suit your needs.

You can sometimes find real Elcan scopes for under $300 on the EE, but they've seen some really good use.
