Looking for opinions on the CZ527 Varmint or other small centerfires

The centerfire caliber choices in my safe start with one 7mm and from there its 30 cals and up. I'm thinking its time to fill in the gap on the low end and have been eyeing up the CZ527 Varmint or Varmint Kevlar.

Anyone have any experience with these guns? I'm looking at the 223 and will use it for targets and the occasional coyote, if I ever go make some contacts with land owners.

I have a couple of Brno ZG47s and 452s and am quite fond of them so CZ seems like a great place to start looking at a varmint gun.

If there are any other suggestions feel free to chime in.

I'm also looking for suggestions on optics. My favorite big game scope has been the VX3 2.5-8 but was thinking some with a bit more magnification. Perhaps a 4.5-14 with a 40mm objective?

Many thanks!

I bought a leftie CZ527 American a couple of years ago and it is one of my fave rifles. Light and very nicely put together. If I had bought this a long time ago a lot more of my guns would be CZ. Also have a leftie CZ452 zeroed at 100m. Both shoot better than I do and are very easy to look at. I have become fond of the Nikon optics and now prefer them to a lot of others. Stellar optics.

i have a 223 kevlar and a 22 hornet american and they both shoot great. I have other 223 22 hornets but I usually grab these two if I am going out.

Here's mine wearing a VXL 6.5-20x56mm, Warne rings and Versapod. Great rifle out of the box.
Also take a look at the Coopers.

An action specifically scaled to the CF 22s and not some made to fit setup like most. Blew me away when I found it to be the same weight as my CZ452. Sure is a slick rig. Dont miss the Ruger No 1 at all and it has a DM to boot. Love the Minimauser. Seems to like everything I put thru it.

Savage makes some nice guns in 6BR that are very accurate, especially the ones with the Target AccuTrigger which is adjustable down to 6 oz. by the user.

The set trigger on the CZ527 is very nice as well, and I actually prefer it to the Accutrigger.

I quite like mine.

It's a .223 and the scope is a Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14x40 SF in Warne high rings. Lower rings would require bolt handle modification to allow it to clear the occular bell.

The triggers can be adjusted to give a very nice pull even in the unset mode.

527

I have several of the 527 CZ rifles, two of which are in 223. One is the Full stock and the other is a varmint kevlar. Love that palm swell on the kevlar. Love the option of the set trigger. My kevlar with 55gr ballistic tips is pretty darn accurate and the FS is minute of dead thing. FS

Is there a solution to the long Mag.? I know they are great guns but wondering how comfortable it would to carry with that Mag. Is there a flush Mag. available?
