Is the "N" in London reversed? The crown and P proof marks are upside down, compared to standard English practice. The crossed scepters mark was made using several elements, rather than one stamp. There is something odd about the styling and detailing of the gun. I suspect that the gun was made elsewhere than England.

Great Observation :)

I blew up the picture and you are correct. The "N" is backwards. I do not have the pistol in my hand, but will have someone look at it to confirm was is in the picture is accurate.

thanks again for your help

In the Middle East they are known for counterfit markings on thier guns this one smacks of being an Arab gun with counterfit marks just look at the weak releaf carving on the stock...its the same as an Arab pistol I just bought and the fit of metal to wood is typical.

I'd be questioning the bead and rear sight on a pistol with a belled mouth.
The front bead is WAY too low !!! Add to the backwards "N", and i would be running the other way!
