Doesn't anyone make a carbide, or other low friction expander ball? I thought I had read of such a beast, but maybe only in my dreams.
Thanks, Hunter. Prolly worth the bucks, considering time spent either trimming, or cleaning the inside of case necks with uncertain results and attendant inconsistent bullet pull.
I think most of you missed the fact that he said he is using a lee collette sizing die in which case you do not need to lube the neck at all because there is no expander ball being pulled through the neck, just the neck being squeezed against the mandrel.

He also said "lube" when full length resizing, line 3 post 1, which is what most were responding to.I think most of you missed the fact that he said he is using a lee collette sizing die in which case you do not need to lube the neck at all because there is no expander ball being pulled through the neck, just the neck being squeezed against the mandrel.
Varsol.
It'll wash off oil based lube, there is no water based varsol. If you're using water soluble lube the answer is obvious. I retumble in old Lyman green to get the oils off and then pick the primer holes and shake out the loose bits whilst watching tv.
