I,m think of getting into the Cboy action stuff, is there any clubs in Saskatchewan??
also we are thinking of buying a place between prince george BC and Quesnelle BC is there any out there , and is there any BPCR sihlouette shoots in that area???

Look into the prince george rod and gun club for what we have in pg. Not really any cowboy action, there are occasional sillouette shoots. PG is 100-200y rifle, pistol, ipsc, and skeet. We also have a 1000y range thats coming along.

Quesnel has a club, not sure how big or what they offer. I seem to remember that they had a cowboy shoot last year and trying to get an ipsc match there this year.

get a hold of me when youre here

The Prince George Club is trying to get Cowboy shooting going this summer.
If there are any Gun Nutz that can lend a hand that would be great.

We hope to have a intro to the sport sometime in May

Keep us posted on how you are making out. When I first got interested in shooting for competition CAS was what I wanted to get into but the closest shooters were in Quesnel. Just too far to drive.

If you guys are successful I would gladly trade all my IPSC and IDPA gear to go Cowboy.

I attended a match in Quesnel several years ago and it was a lot of fun.

I discovered CAS in the fall of 2008 quite by accident, looking at Cowboy Holsters on the internet. Anyway I told a friend about it and he strated thinking it would be cool. Thru the winter 2008/09 I discovered that a club about 2hrs drive from me were holding Cowboy matches a few times thru the summer, I went to the april shoot as a spectator, that was my worst mistake, I should have brought my guns. Then I was at the range one day with my buddy and a young feller showed up saw our cowboy hats, lever gun, coach gun and my buddys 1875 Uberti Outlaws SA, and was asking if we we're into CAS. We said we wanted to be, he starts telling us that Truro Nova Scotia was holding matches as well about 1.5 hours drive. We went back to Fredericton with our guns this time and met 3 more fellers from our area. This May we will be holding the 1st of our monthly matches at my local range.
What I'm trying to say is make the drive you'll likely meet people from your area with the same interests as ya'll, and from there you may be forming your own posse and shooting at your own range. 1st get out and have fun the rest will take care of itself.
Hell this the most fun I've had with my clothes on in 30 years.

Thanks, but I am looking at a 9 - 10 hour drive one-way to the closest club. Not going to happen.

Like Icebox said check the SAWWS regularly for updated shoot lists. Most of us are just setting the dates for the 2011 season so in the very near future they will be posted there.

There are Cowboy Action clubs in Prince Albert, Candle Lake and Tompkins that host monthly club shoots. As well SAWWS hosts two bigger shoots each year in Saskatoon this year the dates are May 28-29 and Aug 20/21. SAWWS also plans to host a couple one day shoots at the Biggar range with possible demmo shoots in Meadow Lake or Big River tentative dates will be posted on the website in the next few days.

If you are connected to a range and are interested in hosting a demonstration shoot in the South East SAWWS will provide targets, guns, ammo and RO's at no charge. Your local club would need to supply the range, a lunch and water for the shooters. We just want to grow the sport here in Sask so if you're interested our contact info is on our website.

Hmmm, I been switching from tactical to black powder back to tactical precision rifle and just yesterday I fired my first cowboy SA .45. Now I'm hooked. My range is a run down piece of crap quagmire. Where in the lower mainland of BC does anyone do cowboy action?

FYi, there are some matches proposed for Cap Pele range this summer.

You're right Maurice, as of this spring we "The BeauBassin Range Riders" will be holding CAS mathes at the Cap Pelee Gun Range on the second saturday of the month starting in May, if the range is dry enough, if not June. This will be our 1st year. If you PM me with your email address, I'll copy you on the schedule it should be ready for sending within the next 2 weeks, we would love to have you join us.w:h:

I would hope it's indoors Garand:) It's -24C in Central Alberta right now with a forecast of "periods of snow".

Take Care

As a matter of fact, it was indoors. 7 stages using only revolvers and lever action carbines, a good time was had by all. Chuck, where the heck were you today? We missed you! The roads were pretty good on the south end of the province.

I was busy setting dates for the shoots in Saskatoon. We hope to make the next one and plan to attend the gun show at the end of the month. Bruce said bring your guns so he must have some shooting planned as well. Granny Oakley just got her new rig and her guns should be back from Rusty Wood this week so she's chomping at the bit. As soon as we get the last of our dates settled I'll shoot you and Prince Charming an email.
