No the mags they won't lock in it says requires fitting but what fitting the mag I got when I bought the gun fits ?

Mine did the same.. I separated the stock and barrel and inserted the mag through the top end of the stock(I'm using the original wood stock) then re-assembled and I've never had a problem since!

Same problem for me, with both tapco and a steel duckbill and a ati folding stock with a 1950 Tula sks. It took a bit of simple grinding down of the bill end to make them fit, probably made the mags about 1/4 inch shorter. I also had to cut down the round bit on the back of the mag about 1/8 inch or so that is the part that hits the bottom of teh bolt catch. Please pardon me if I am not clearly explaining this, I can send pics if you want.

on my russian sks my duckbill mag had some fitting issues i just filled down my wooden stock a little and now it gets in and out like a tapco . Didnt have to touch the mag at all.

My friend got some TAPCO mags, and we had to sand them for 4 hours. We actually didn't have to though LOL.Take the stock, and just try to put the mags in the reciever, you can see where they are not going in. We had to take a knife and shave off the corners on the front. Then they worked.

Wow. I would have just thrown it at the wall and left...lol. And congrats on getting un-banned...haha.

Speaking of these TAPCO mags... Is there a way to take them apart for cleaning or would that be a legal no no?

Very minor modifications required around top and side of duck bill just infront of the actual mag - takes all of 2 minutes with a file. Learned this the hard way, of course.

The bottom of the mag slides out. It's perfectly legal.

The follower has 2 long 'guides' that hit the bottom of the mag when 5 rounds are insterted.

update lol still havent done bought a new dremmel just for this mag issue ,been so busy with other builds i'll still post my results, i'm finding more and more helpful advice though thanks.
