Which Beretta do you own ?

Beretta 96, 96D, a 9mm Elite II top end and all parts except frame, 96 Elite II top end and all parts except frame, and my pride and joy the only one in Canada, a Beretta 8045 Cougar with the LAPD/California Highway Patrol long barrel.

90-two in 9mm,EE purchase,it was supposed to be a low round count pistol, when I got it it had a ton of crap in the barrel and looked like it was pitted gave it a good cleaning(probably the first it ever had),and there were some pretty good groves in it,took the slide off to clean and grease, looked for obvious wear,it looked ok,the guy seamed shocked at what I was telling him about his pistol,I felt bad for him he said he would make it right but never did(learned my lesson about leaving feedback before the deal is completely done, the guy is now banned) took it too the range second clip 3d shot the front sight fell off,so it's into the gunsmith for an overhaul

Can't post pics from my Blackberry, but a search should bring up pics of all of em, especially the cougar.

I was not aware of that, but lets compare these models to the regular D model...

Factory 96FS: Completely crappy first DA shot; all followup SA shots have decent trigger pull

"D Spring upgraded" 96FS: Better crappy first DA shot; all followup SA shots have decent trigger pull

96D: Better crappy DA shot every single trigger pull from first shot on

The point I am making is why subject yourself to a DA shot every single pull of the trigger? The D model may have its applications, but it is not for me.

The DA takes a bit of practice on the 9mm. Can't say on the 96 .

Do you have a buddy who owns a 9mm version...maybe it's worth a try

90-Two

Does anybody have any experience with the new 90-Two? Likes, dislikes?
I think these are made in Italy. It is a little tough to read on the slide.
Apparently it is difficult to find holsters for these. I am going to try and modify a Serpa for it.
For those that don't like the picatiny cover it is easily removable and looks better off in my opinion.

Be aware with any Elite II or Elite 1A that there are no spare parts available. Most especially no frames. Once you break one, and if you shoot a lot you will, you'll be looking for a new gun. Elite II and 1A top ends will fit on a 90Two if you use a steel guide rod, and not the 90Two factory guide rod.
In my opinion Beretta has their heads so far up their ass I am surprised they can function as a company. The failure to continue with models that were in demand and to bend over for some "design expert" who has ruined their pistol lines and is on the way to ruining more, is just beyond belief. Guns, work guns at least, should be designed to function first, then be ergonomic, then go for looks. To start with looks and work backward is what led to the entire Storm series. Abominations all.
And yes my Cougar looks similar. G model with longer barrel though.

The storm isnt the only ones they make. The 92 series is great, and the 89-87 Target plinkers are simply awsome. I'm not in love with the storm design but they fit well in my hand they do the job at the range ;)

By being a Beretta fan for over 2 decades and knowing the largest Beretta collector in the world. Brad sold me a NIB 8045 LB Cougar years back. I promptly scratched it as soon as I got it (doh!), but its a shooter not a safe queen. I doubt you'll ever see another one in Canada. They are rare in the US. I even bought a spare long barrel for it, just in case.

Oooh, no experience with that one and it has a weird frame to it. (my opinion)
have you thought of getting a good leather or nylon holster(more forgiving)

When you decide . I'd like to see your choice.

Picked up one of these http://www.blackhawk.com/product/Level-3-SERPA-Auto-Lock-Duty-Holster,1175,51.htm for cheap from a buddy, If it works I'll use it, if not I'll just mod it or send it back. I haven't picked up the pistol yet (a little cart before the horse I know) but I have had my heart set on this one for a few years. I now have the means to buy one so it will come in short order. I will probably get a leather holster as well but they are pretty tough to find for this gun because of the interference from the picatiny rail.

Well found a Beretta 92 Stock (could be combat without the Comp) in France today.
1750 Euros but they only sell to residents

This is the pic they had.

I agree.

I think it's a Beretta Italy VS Beretta USA thing.
Anyone see a Elite 1 ,1a or Elite 2 made in Italy? I have not but if I look up stuff in Europe they have Beretta Stock,Combat even the french have there own Beretta clone or brand/license Mab? ...I forget

I like my 92 SF and will not sell/trade or modify it. But I will eventually buy another one and oh boy that 1 is going to get it. But for now I probably will get a Elite variant . I don't know anyone who has one . So I'm gonna buy one and try it.

Does you ultimate Beretta collector have or had the chanceto shoot a Beretta (Stock,Combat or even a Billenium or a Steel 1).
I would love his opinion on the matter.
