Finally have my AR7 - Picture heavy!!!!

Very swish. Question: If you loaded all three mags while in 'storage mode' (ie 2 'loose' in the buttstock's sockets, and 1 in the receiver) would it count as 'loaded' if you were checked by LEO?

Another one of Eugenes brainstorms. His Armalite (winged horse) had a satin chrome bolt and the fit and finish of the original make the new ones look weak. The swirly brown plastic was a first of its kind, plastic was about as 'hi tech' as you could get. There should be a Eugene Stoner day !!

Thanks. I heard about that so have a brick of CCI with me now.

300shooter, I got mine from Elwood Epps, of our the Dealers here. Took them 6 months to bring it in though. I hear supplies are low and demand is high a few months back but it may have stabilized. Cabelas has them but they are on back order for some time already.

Hey spearhunter,
I got mine two weeks ago.
When you do go to range, try use CCI blazer or mini-mag round nose, it seem to only like round nose ammo, anything hollow point is trouble.

I have one and it shoots just fine with CCI stingers. If I could only get a metal barrel I would be as happy as a pig in mud.

you can get 10 round mags for them though. well i don't know if you can get them but i know they do exist. i think there were 15 rounders at some point too but they stopped making them yearsa ago and those that have them won't be giving them up cheaply if at all.

Thanks for the info! And thanks again for sending my "impulse buy" gene into overdrive, damn , I just made a deal on 3 of them from our local shop. I luv it when I can suck my buddies into my addictions.......

Hate to be "That Guy", but is there a good way to trigger lock this for storage while it's folded up?

Unless there is a lock that is as streamlined as the receiver, no. Being a non restricted piece, the premise is that it is stored in a disassembled state and kept inside a locked cabinet or drawer.

There are large capacity mags available south of the border but I am not sure if they will ship here. Most of the ones tested were also used on the older AR7 version so I am not sure if there are any issues when used on the new one.

Yes, there is a weaver rail for a scope mount although that will eliminate your ability to store it in the case. I guess a QD mount might work.

I know the feeling :) It's been 30 years since I first saw and wanted an AR7 but never had the chance to get one till now.
