The salt block by the stand is suspect. You saw the bow out of sseason. You're obviously pretty sure he's poaching. Watch him with your spotting scope or binos, and when he drops a deer call the NRO's. The poachers I know of in MB use a 4X4, high powered rifle and a spotlight. This guy has brass balls if he IS poaching by houses, in a tree stand and a bow day after day. That's why everyone figures he might be watching deer and trying to shoot a coyote. Until he shoots at a deer, there's nothing you can do, since he'll tell the NRO's he's coyote hunting for sure. Let us know what plays out, I'm really curious now.

Call the Fish Cops - tell them what you know, dont go into conjecture - that someone's calling, there are stands and bait (I know thats how the CO's look on salt licks here) - and let them decide based on their own observation whats going on. If the guy is indeed poaching, he'll get his. If he's back there with a camera, then the fishcops and he will have a brief, friendly chat, and all will be well.
Its CO's job to prevent poaching wherever there may be a possibility of it - and its by reporting such things that they are best able to do so. Thats the exact method they're using to try and protect what few mainland moose we have here, and doubtless they're hoping for the same for other species across Canada.
The rest of you who would either turn a blind eye or huffily wish that you would not want the fishcops called on you (what does that say about your own activities? hmm boys?) are part of the problem, not the solution.

Way too many people willing to cry wolf than in the past.No such thing as each to thier own anymore.Seems everyone these days has the by-law officer on speed dial.Nothing wrong with minding ones buisness, until you have a valid claim to make, with evidence to back it up.This is your neighbour! Do you really want to call in a false claim, and become a bad neighbour? Man up, and talk to the guy. Don't be a weasle, ans rely on wild assumtions.
If more of these do-gooders, actually did good rather than bother people, the world would be a far better place.

If the fish cops came to me as I was accused of poaching and I clearly wasn't then #### them...I'd walk away not sit there for their "friendly talk" allah warning me of something I wasn't doing and wasting my time.
Without seeing the legal documents, you cannot assume the riverbank AND the riverbed are in fact included with the property. It really depends how the oringinal survey was done. MOST of the time, the property line starts at the high water mark, but not always.
Nope, dead wrong. That's poaching. There are provisions for wildlife damage, and if the problem is sever, you can apply for depredation tags to thin them out. The only persons who can hunt out of season without permit are natives.

And you should research the Ontario wildlife act.. there is no such thing.. you are guilty until you prove otherwise.. You can be charged and convicted of poaching just by having a gun in an area with wildlife. You need to prove you are innocent to get off the charges.
you should also look at the new Ontario racing laws.. you loose your property and driving right away without being proven guilty..

Snowed like crazy today, he took day off I guess, talked to land owner, said its a relative that has permission, had no idea he was still hunting. Said he was gonna call him, owner had no idea season was over(non hunter), I guess I won't hear him till fall now.
