Looking for a scope ??

I am planning to buy a new scope for my 270wsm hunting rifle, my budget is around $250-$300. Any suggestion? I am thinking about the new redfield revolution 3-9 x 40 scope, is anyone try this scope before? compare to the bushnell 3200, nikon buckmaster or leupold rifleman. which one is good for the 270wsm rifle? Thx
 
I was comparing the same as you for my new Marlin XS7 in .243.

The redfield is very nice, but in the end chose the Bushnell 3200. About the same price, but the adjustments on the Redfield felt crappy, and I really like the Bushnells. I live real close to their warranty centre, and the Redfield is still really new.

I will say though the Redfield is a little lighter weight, and had some good eye relief. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Can't say I have heard much good about the Nikon, or Rifleman though.

Really if you want a Leupold buy the VX1 3-9 for $100 more.

The Redfield is kind of the bottom of the barrel for Leupold (who bought the name), about equal to the Leupold Rifleman. The Nikon Buckmaster is about equal to the Leupold VX-I, and a step up from the Redfield. And the Bushnell 3200 is a step up again and about equal to the Leupold VX-II.

I would go with the Bushnell 3200 of the scopes you listed. Here are a couple of scope ratings to look at.

Hope that helps some. Another one to look at are the Weavers. The Grand Slam and Classic V are around that range for quality. Not sure on price. Weaver and Bushnell Elite are made by Light Optical Works in Japan, and are very good quality. They used to make scopes for Bausch and Lomb before B&L was bought by Bushnell. LOW has been making scopes for a long time.
 
In your budget if I really wanted new I would be somewhat inclined to try the new Redfield because Leupold backs the warranty. Also consider a Weaver Classic V9 (3-9x38mm.)

To get a better scope for the same money, buy used (carefully.) Leupolds are a relatively safe bet used because the lifetime warranty isn't limited to the original owner, but recently they have made it policy that their Canadian repair agent will only do warranty work on Leupolds officially imported and sold in Canada by their Canadian distributor, so know the history of a used Leupold you are going to buy.
 
The Buushnell 3200 would be money well spent good $value. I would not rate it as good as the Leupold VX11 but certainly better than some of the others mentioned in the same price range.
 
check out some of the pawn shops where you live before buying new you might be surprised with what you can get
