Can I shoot in my small backyard with a <500fps airgun?

Welcome to Brampton, no discharge of airguns within city limits I believe, BUT inside the house is a different thing. I had a couple before, and still do I just made a nice pellet trap using duct seal picked up from Home Depot @ Trinity Commons, it held up real well.

Even it is legal you may be attracting negative attention.

Just saying...

Yeah, I know Brampton... if you said boo with a cap gun in your hand the K9 crew would be tracking you down.

I shoot mine inside. I do it all the time and there is no problems, except when I tried my full auto air pistol for the first time things got a bit less that accurate and I had to repaint the wall behind my (much too small) target.
:)

Check your local bylaws. Ours phohibits discharging firearms including airguns, but excludes discharge of firearms deemed not to be firearms in the Criminal Code - so in my area, I could shoot cans with your sub 500 fps rifle in the backyard. Then again, what would the neighbours think - LOL!

Those whiny, cockless guys. Seriously, half of them don't have roosters!

I'd be more worried about Suzy Soccer Mom, just imagine the 911 call.

"There is a man outside in his backyard with a gun, it's really big and it's a gun, he's shooting at things ...please send help!!"

And within 5 minutes you would have the Peel Region Tactical Unit at your door ready for some dynamic entry. Sad how uneducated and scared some people are...

+1 Peoples that doesn't like gun don't matter if it's an airgun or not. It's just, well....a gun!!

Cripes it could be a toy capgun and they would call 911. It has happened before and been posted about on CGN.

You can barely f*rt in the city without attracting complaints.

God I love living on the farm outside city limits....at least so far it is not inside Ottawa........praying that never happens in my lifetime.

CD

Thanks for making my night!!! lmao

my how times have changed.....

we used to walk around the banks of the credit river with our 357 magnum replica, crossman air pistols, shooting birds, squirrels, rodents, hell even had over the shoulder holsters, a full tin of pellets, and 5 or 6 boxes of CO2 cartridges

man,,,,the good ole days

and I am not that old.......so it was not all that long ago...

i found that backyard shooting can lead to not fun encounters (trust me). Got around it by taking an old moving box, fill it with that rigid insulation and for $20 you've got a target to shoot at from across the basement.
