how many reloads per pistol case

i have searched and maybe im not searching the right stuff but i have found how many times you can reload rifle cases but not pistol cases and im wondering how many times you can reload 9mm and 45 acp brass, if certain brass stands up better than others and if i buy my own brass which i should lean towards

Some of my 10mm brass is from the original 500 rounds of American Eagle factory ammo I bought 6 years ago. They have been loaded so many times I couldn't give an accurate guess.

i think a lot of it has to do with how hot you load your rounds, my 38's i load almost the minimum amount and they dont seem to crack on me very often, as for what brass stands up better i'm leaning towards remington but i havent been loading long so others might know better then me

I'm willing to bet you only have to worry about this (for the common handgun cases) if you do a high volume of shooting.

If you do, you're more likely to lose the brass first, then have to replace it for some type of failure

There really is no set amount minimum or maximum a piece of brass can be reloaded. It all depends on what shape it is in after firing. Sometimes once and it's done, sometimes enough you lose count.

This is very important... It's better to toss any suspect brass than destroy your gun. I am amazed at the lengths some people will go to salvage a piece of common brass.

Depends on the load used, just like a rifle case. One brand is pretty much the same as the next.

Someone once told me 8 reloads and toss it and I was ok with that as it's still a huge savings but then I read for rifles guys saying 40-50 loads so I figure what I was told had to be a little off thanks for all the replies I will just watch the brass and toss when I see any signs of a problem

A case like .45-70 or .38 Spl will get dozens, .308/7.62 out of an M14 won't like get 10, just keep an eye on them and you'll do fine.

I have some .308 that go through my M14 and they have 15 loads on them.

.45/9mm go until they get lost. It is exceedingly rare for one to fail in any way.

Don't know... seems to me like I usually loose the brass before it "wears out"

I've had .38 Spl & .45 acp that has lasted 20+ reloads and .303 brass thats separated after 5 reloads. It depends on a number of things, how hot your loads are, for rifle was it full length or only neck resized, how heavy is your crimp, etc. Hope this helps.
