22 RF bore guids

x2 Sinclair got one a few months ago. Got here fast and works good. I should have ordered the extra part that goes with it [ solvent port] , works fine with out it but the port makes it less messey. I'll get one with an other order sometime.
 
I need a bore guide for my Winchester 69A, and muzzle guide for my 22 lever guns. It seems like all the bore guides are made for specific models, and I can't find any muzzle guides.

Felt and wire/cable instead of rod/patches and guide: VFG Woolen Felts (pages 2-3) on the wire (kind of bore-snake) - VFG Firearm Pocket Set (last page).
Instead of wire it is possible to use lawn-trimmer string (use lighter to make a "ball" on the end), but that's quite poor-man solution.

Personally I've immediately threw away my .22 rod and just-bought bore guide (US$17 - wasted :cool:) and now use felts only.
Also going to try felts for the full-bore (SKS 7.62mm)


Also it is usually not recommended to clean .22 often - once a year or every 2-3K rounds is enough...
(Do not take last suggestion as a firm advise - it's a matter of preference/beliefs/etc.)
 
That's an interesting product, but wouldn't putting steel cable down my barrel damage the bore. If contact between the bore and my rod can damage the bore, I would think steel cable would be even worse.

It's not naked steel wire, it's covered with plastic. If you still afraid - use lawn trimmer string - then it will be pure plastic.

Anyway - I've read about this in the targettalk forum - where people cleaning their really expensive match rifles.
