AS long as it has an OAL of 26" and the barrel is made by a manufacturer (No you and your hack saw are NOT a manufacturer) then you are good to go.

As far as I know, no you don't need to call. But I'm not an expert though I do occasionally pretend to be one on the internet

Check your registration certificate, mine just says barrel length less than ### mm. Other than that the above advise applies. TC
