We are in the process of starting another production run of our AT15 lowers and have made some minor changes that we feel may have merit, so are looking for feedback on what you guys think.
The changes are minor in most respects.
The biggest proposed change is the front of the magwell has finger grooves, the rear take down pin boss is less dramatic in transition and all the edges are radiused.
Same very tight tolerances and 7075 material as previous generations of the AT15 and they will retain the rear take down pin tensioner. The machined finish will be FAR better than what the computer model shows but you get the idea.
Give us your thoughts please.

Price estimate? For stripped lower only?

At this point I expect they will be the same price as our last years model @$550.00 for the stripped lower.

That being said with some new programs, tooling and fixtures we are anticipating a shorter run time in the mills which will reduce the cost of the lower, but until we get them into production will not know exactly how much is saved.

If anyone is considering a custom lower with a personalized serial number now would be the time to let us know.

Im not a fan of the front magwel finger grooves. Will you be able to have a choice between the standard magwell and the finger grooves?

another idea would be to use a set screw to hold the selector spring in place so you change the grip without hunting for the parts ;)

Captive set screws to hold both the selector indent and rear take-down indents in place, likewise, I prefer the origional magwell front you did to what I see in the pic.

.

One hump for four fingers? I use the magwell hold and I'd probably steer clear of this lower just because it looks like it would interfere.

I'd much prefer something like the checkering Mega does on their magwells

Here's mine below. I like like the original milling on the handguard and wouldn't change it myself. Beautiful lowers though.

I find the bottom front of the magwell to be a little 'sharp'. A smooth rounded radius would be better in my opinion. Not sure if it's possible, but that's the only 'complaint' with mine. Still think it's the nicest lower around! :)

Also - ditch the 'hump' in that picture.

That was my thought as well. Nice to have the wide flared sides, but the front feels a little odd with a maghold.

Lose the HUMP!

I agree with all the posts above regarding the "hump".

A nicely cut design or grooves looks much more slick.

I had two of your original lowers and sold one. Been kicking myself ever since. At least I still have one...

Better anodizing. Mine showed up scratched and I thought it had been through a war until I realized it could b scratched off at the drop of a hat... Doing things like installing a magpul grip, putting a trigger lock on it, looking at it funny.

Keep the original checkering or something similar. Radius all sharp edges. Do the chamfering on the trigger guard a la KAC as suggested

Are the QD attach points (like on the SR15 lowers) a patented feature? If not, those would be great.

A bit out to left field, but I notice that nobody makes a lower than allows for bolt hold open with the right hand. A button on the right that would lift the bolt stop would be awesome for clearing malfunctions. In essence, it would function as an integral BAD lever, but without the cheesy, easy to snag wraparound lever.
