Hey guys-

Just looking for some feedback. Do you think practice with a .22 conversion will improve your shooting .223? ISTM, the amount of trigger time you can get for the cost makes a good case for it but I sometimes wonder if it might develop some bad habbits.

Any trigger time is good trigger time.

Just make sure to follow up a session of rimfire with a reasonable amount of centerfire afterwards.

Rimfire is not a substitute, just a way to help lower the costs while retaining the basics of shooting.

Don't expect to practice anything that has to do with recoil control though, .22 does not help with that.

Dryfire and rimfire are both excellent forms of practice, but as the saying goes - perfect practice makes perfect.
Sending lead down range just for the sake of it is a waste of ammo and time and will form bad habits.

Exactly my thoughts on the subject. Follow up drills with rimfire with some 223 practice and you increase your trigger time on the cheap.
