Whats out there in 300 H&H Mag

Boys they don't give you much room to play with, even in a full length box. Box shown came out of my M70 375H&H.

Martini & Hagn has listed FS a VERY nice Prairie Gunworks, 300 H&H custom built by Russ Spagrud on a pre 64 Winchester Model 70 and another pre war Holland & Holland built in 300 H&H (Holland's 30 Super )

If you can't find what your looking for and you like Rem actions, it's pretty easy to rebarrel one from 7mm RemMag or 300 Wby. You can also find takeoff barrels from model 721's that will screw right on to a 700 action...PM if you want one.

A few years back there was a question . . "if there was a fire and you had only enough time to grab one firearm on your way out, which one would it be" . . My answer was quick, my pre-64 M70, 300 H&H.

The 300 H&H is one of the most versitile cartridges as it'll handle the 220 gr bullets for large thick skinned game and handle the 100 gr. bullets for small game and varmits. This is one cartridge that is a . . "Jack of all Trades and a Master with Everyone" . . . The long tapered case with it's long neck is part of what makes it great for us shooters; just not so great for the Rifle Makers as it rerquires a longer receiver than what fits in their financiaL comfort zone and lets face it, they want to make money.

If you can locate an original rifle chambered in 300 H&H and it's in good condition, buy it, you'll never regret it.

Over the years I've accumulated enough ammo and brass to last my lifetime and my Son's lifetime. Gun shows usually have some if you're looking and a good excuse to go there.

As much as some would like, the 300 H&H is too good a cartridge to leave behind and more and more folks are beginning to realize this, including Craig Boddington. A few years back he did a very good write up in American Rifleman about his 721 Remington in 300 H&H. From the plains of Africa to North American coyotes, the 300 H&H is tough to beat from 100 gr to 220 gr bullets. It's just such a nice round to shoot and hunt with.
