Hi All I thought I'd make my first real post a most likely dumb question; but here goes. Does the stripper clips that you load a SKS with come with the cases of 7.62 x 39 ammo or do they have to be purchased separately? If separately where to get them then?

Thanks in advance!
Kevin

They(rounds) come already in the clip,no need to purchase some.

PS: Welcome to the board ! and there is no dumb question only dumb answer :)

They defeintely come with the case surplus ammo, not sure about the commerical ( new ) grade ammo though.

PS - Welcome to CGN !!

We sell them seperately on our webstore. $5per 10 clips. For SKS shooters that do not buy surplus or AK shooters. Most Go down south or to the EU.

.. We got a ribbing on here last year for trying to sell ' Garbage ' .. it'll never work.

... Last week I packaged up my 5000th stripper clip in 10 months. ;) ..one mans garbage. ;)

actually , members had bought surplus by the crates and had found the ammo in bags without the stripper clippers .

They were.. North Sylva did a big ammo order a while back and repacked/repackaged the 1120rnd crates into 1000rnd and distributed out. 12% extra profit per case and very little complaints. Looks like it worked out in their favor.

Thank You everyone for the really fast responses!!!!! So I now know that most surplus 7.62x39 will come on stripper clips. Now part 2 of the question who is the most recommended ammo dealer for price and delivery and honesty?

Once again Thanks in advance! Kevin

I make 5 rd. stripper clips out of mine, much nicer in the 858 as they dont trip the bolt hold open. And since we're talking surplus, does anybody know exactly what this stuff is? It has S&B's commercial logo on the side, $209 at WSS for 1000 rds. The guy behind the counter told me its standard czech milsurp, anybody bought some that can confirm that?

I bought one of these boxes from my Local Gun Shop. The one I got is blue boxes full of 20 Round on 10 Round Stripper Clips. Stickers have been added to each blue box with a warning. There are 1000 Rounds in a box.

I would assume it's the same as what you have pictured. I emptied the card board box into my Wooden Ammo Crate from my original crate for my SKS when I first bought it.

Yea,I also recently bought 1000rd "box"@ the local gun shop. When i asked for the 1200rd crate he told me that the "crates" have been deemed to be improperly labeled for Canadian markets {i.e. no en francais} explaining as to what was in the crate???? Every blue cardboard 20 pack in the box now have french and English labels explaining.....yep....wait for it .....7.62x39mm ball ammo. My God how has this country come to this nonsense! Personally I believe that it is an excuse to charge $240 for a 1000rds vs. $240 for 1200rds.....I'm on the hunt for ammo elsewhere myself:D

Don't forget the "Lead Warning" and "Keep out of reach of Children" in both french and English. That's the real information the Government wants on there not the Caliber or Projectile type... That info is just an added bonus.

Check out SFRC. When they have any in stock it's usually fairly priced.
