Hey guys,
I was wondering if there was any way of importing an M14 bolt, or if you guys know of anyone in Canada that would have a stocking item... Im primarily looking for a Fulton Armory one, but at this point I will settle for anything that is new or like new. Thanks guys for the help!

P.S. I was wondering would it be legal if I had my cousin (who lives in the states) to buy a Fulton Armory bolt there and send it to me?

It would require an Export permit at the very least. If it is marked M14, that also might cause issue as I believe all M14 parts are prohibited for export. If not marked M14 you could bring it in as an M1A bolt. Its all semantics and total bullsh*t.

Importing a M-14 bolt into Canada should be entirely possible.
Exporting a M-14 bolt from the United States would be problematic.
All bolts require the licenced exporter to obtain an export permit for the bolt. Whether the US DOS would issue an export permit for a M-14 bolt is questionable. A bolt for a M1A would be ex;portable.
Is your cousin a licenced US exporter?

Really , thats why the spring upgrade kit i just ordered from the states all says US M14 RIFLE on them ? , its going to depend on wether the manufacturer has an export papers in place.

I think it may have been how the manufacturer registered it with their government. They could've itemized it as a part for an M1A rifle.

It's all semantics and total bull####. The M1A and M14 are 99% the same as far as I can make out.
It is still not clear to me how Springfield Arms exports the M1A with its threaded barrel and flash hider.

simple the m14 was selectfire once a MG allways a MG and NO export of any mg parts without enduser cert...

the m14 is also named NO export same with the deadly m1 carbine I mean if the taliban got those its over we lose.........

the m1a is not Fa nor were they ever from springfield armoury

you can get most rilfe parts from the states but as long as it does not go over 100 dollers then you need a export import permit

"...differant(SIC) rules for differant(SIC) parts..." Flash hiders can be military. Rifle muzzle brakes are not.
All M14 parts are restricted for export by the U.S. government, plus the manufacturer is required to have an expensive exporter's business licence. M1A parts are not.
"...The M1A and M14 are 99% the same..." Not quite. They really just look the same. The M1A is a commercial sporting rifle with cast receivers. No provision for the selector.
"...Fulton Armory make a..." Fulton doesn't ship to Canada.

So the receiver is slightly different, to allow it to go FA. Beyond that they seem to share 100% parts commanality. Still hasn't been explained to my how the Springfield M1A is exported from the US in it's current form.

and to further confuse you all..... I have seen several rifles, LRB and older , early springfields imported in the past 3 or 4 years with all usgi parts installed... standard imports through liscenced FFL's and importers. previous to all this "control" over m14 parts, I had little trouble importing bulk parts purchases through liscenced means..... but sadly those days are gone or take too long and cost too much to even pursue.

Even when I imported my LRB a couple years ago it was touch and go with the US State Dept weather or not they would let the receiver leave the US..lucky for me I got my grubby hands on it :D

FWIW, I think you are now looking at 762mmfirearms bolts or SAI M1A bolts.

I didn't think FA made their own bolts anyhow - I thought they used surplus GI?
