Can someone please tell me a good scope mount and where to get it i dont want one that will be a waste of money something good but not something that is way to expensive

Well what do you consider too expensive? You get what you pay for especially with scope mounts. Read the sticky at the top of the page. Fabsports (top of page) has one of the better ones (Sadlak, steel) for $275.

Thanks thats a little bit above what wanted to spend but i heard those were good so probley will get it

I'm at the same cross roads, and considering that a quality mount for the M305 will be $200-$350 w/tax and a shortening and tune will run about $500; I will buy another rifle (in 300WM) and keep the M305 for an any weather bush rifle. If I was going to buy a scope mount it would be an ARMS 18. Apparently it is slightly lower than the Sadlak, and therefore easier the get a proper cheek weld without an expensive stock adding to the price of the system. If budget is not a big concern, consider a new stock with higher cheek rest to go with your scope and mount.

where can i get a new stock
also some one on here name buckaroo offerd me a arms 18 mount for 180 i think check him out

M14doctor on here manufactures them. Also google JAE stocks (heavy, expensive, wonderful performance). Many other options, although many of them are "tacticool" and don't add much else to your rifle besides cost.

Sounds like a good deal. I bought my ARMS 18 from Wolverine Supplies a couple of years ago for around $250ish.

As for stocks, I'd suggest checking the parts and bits section of the EE - USGI or even Boyd's stocks do pop up from time to time.

I just sold my ARMS #18 It would not work on my M305. The low profile caused ejector problems and the shells would occasionally jam against the scope base, throughing the whole thing out of wak. I also had an alignment issue and would have had to shim the side of the scope base. my gun was shooting 20" to the left at 50 yards. This could have been corrected but as soon as a shell jammed it would have been out again. Another note is the base could have been longer to the back I always had to stretch forward to the scope.

I am considering these 2 the Springfield Armory 4th Generation Weaver-Style Scope Mount M1A and the M14 CASM. I think they would solve the ejector issue. I do not know how good they are. Has anyone tried them.

Apparently the chinese ejector spring is over powered and needs to be cut down to function properly with the ARMS 18. I didn't remember to include this because M14doctor would be doing this mod and mounting the ARMS 18 (a bit of a painstaking process) when he did a barrel chop job if I decide to go this way in the future.
