vortex strikefire

anyone run a vortex strikefire red dot on their AR's, I see it already has some zoom built in so I'm guessing a magnifier wouldn't be needed. Seems like a good price.

It's a threaded 2x magnifier. It is a good price but you have to get the high mount for it.

Comes with the 2x magnifier which threads into the eyepiece.

I put some Butler Creek flip lens caps on mine because the vortex ones are kinda crappy.

How do you like the 3X? The 2X really restricts FOV, how does the 3X compare? Oh and +1 for the strikefire to the OP, I love mine

they run about 400 plus tax. i dont think they are to many of them in canada yet. although people on here that do have them seem to like them. only thing i am woried about with that sight is the reticle looking to cluttered. i am looking at sourcing one but they are hard to find.

p.s. you cant go wrong with a strikefire either. a very nice optic it is. the spark is better then the strikefire IMO.

Great optic for me so far. I like the red, green and NV reticles for it, the range of sizes for the adjustable dot and 2X magnifier is a great bonus. The price point is for all of that is great.

Not crazy about the single ring base/single rail attachment for it though.. does anyone else find that there's some give in the mounting base? For example, when i push the lens covers shut, the whole base moves forward (or back depending on which cover it is) about an 1/8" of an inch, I only really noticed it my last range session and am out of .223 so haven't been able to test out it's effect on my zero. Anyone else having this problem? Can anyone recommend a sturdier base?

I've had that problem as well with the mount but it hasn't seemed to affect the zero of mine at all (most shooting done at 50 yards) so I haven't bothered to do anything with it.
