I found this and looks almost like the rem700 I was going to build with the TAC21 chassis. Looks pretty mean, does it shoot well?

Guy at my club owns one and he has several very high end rifles ans several customs. He says for the money they are very hard to beat!

Twist a custom barrel on it down the road and you are well ahead of most at a price that is hard to beat.

The price you found is amazing if its new. Cheapest Ive seen is around 1900 dollars.

I hope not, I put half my safe for sale and already sold one gun today to pay for this thing lol. I'd be pissed.

I know the feeling waiting for a new rifle, I am sure you will enjoy it. Never had a Savage but fired the rifle you just ordered and it was very accurate shooting 168 grain Federal Gold Medal. Was a Rem 700 owner and a custom Rem owner till I went the AI route. Let us know how it shoots once you get that bad boy. I am sure you won't be dissapointed

Good score on the price - sometimes Cabela's have a great sale on a high end piece when they are going to discontinue that particular model; that was the story with a nice Kimber I bought from them. As to your new Savage, yes it uses AI mags and yes you will like it. My buddy has the same rifle and it shoots real nice.

Congrats on your new toy :)

With the Tic Tac you arguably already have the better rifle. Why waste the money? $1,600 would buy a significant quantity of match ammo for you to practice with.

c'mon, give the guy a break :) as more guns he has as more fun he gets :)

he will end up with only one precision gun for sure, but this time will come later :)
