I never saw this before, does anyone know what this rifle/sub-machine gun is ?

Also, anyone knows what kind of scope that is ?

Saw it in the newspaper a few weeks ago.

Thanks everyone!

the air force is mounting dilon mini guns on the griffons in afganistan. sad i know, they even thought about putting crv 7 rocket pods on them. you think used ah-1s gunships can be had for about 4 million they would buy a few?

I used to work on the Griffon, not a spectacular helicopter admitedly, however the ray of sunshine was the possible replacement of it with the new USMC spec UH-1Y, and because the new AH-1s share 85% of their components with that aircraft, and the need to protect the CH-147 Chinooks, the possibility does exist for one day having a gunship in Canada. Of course, god only knows when the Griffon will be replaced...

They just need to stand 428 Sqn back up :D

As for the XM-25, I would rather the US army do the troop trials and see if the concept works before we buy any of them. Certainly seems like a cool piece of kit if it works right, but its also damn big.

Not a lot of people are impressed with the terminal effects of the 25mm round, however some combat trials will be useful.
