.223 Lee-Enfield ?

Didn't know where else to post this :redface: , but was just curious if anyone else would be intrigued by a (new-manufacture) .223 in the Lee-Enfield's action....:nest:....

Hey :D , if AIA can make 7.62x39 "Enfields", why not a .223 version ? :yingyang:
 
A friend used to build .223 "gopher guns" on the No4 action. They were single shots with a heavy "truck axle" barrel which made the action look very flimsy. He also used a 1 piece stock. He would only use Long Branch or Savage actions for these conversions, no Brit ones.

These were butt ugly, but they were accurate enough and handled standard .223 loads w/o any complications.
 
The ones that take AK mags use neutered ones pinned to five.
I don't see them making bolt action marked .223 mags. They won't even sell the .308 ones to us.
 
"...why not a .223 version..." Not enough market. The mags, its follower, bolt face, ejector and extractor would require serious modifications too.
