2011 Gopher Getter. 14 Months in the Making.

My reaction is similar to one of the early posts. I'd say "I have wood", but it looks like YOU have it! :)

....and I thought I loved .17 HMR! ;)

Putting a Tasco on that work of art would be a shooting offense.................Harold............like buying tires for your Ferrari at Walmart

That is one beautiful rifle. I was through Lloydminster today and Clay showed me a couple of Custom Classic 22 lrs that came in at the same time. Wait until he has pics of those, drool, drool!! They both have some walnut on them imported from New Zealand. Unbelievable stuff.

I have 3 CF rifles that I use for gophers. My 204 has a 4.5-14x40, my 223 has a 6.5-20x56 and the hornet with the 2..5-8x36. I find the 6.5 is to much for close shots and the 4.5 spends most of its time set on about 10x. When set on 2.5 the hornet is great for offhand snapshots, can still nail them at 200 yards set on 8x. You might want to have a look at a 3.5-10x40. I wouldn't go really big on that rifle IMHO.

Good advice. Thanks. Do they make a Gloss scope in that magnification? Would matte look funny?

Nice stove and, Ohhh!........bananas!!:)
Nice wood, beautiful execution of skeletonized grip cap and butt plate, rich, deep blueing, and a really nice style of engraving. The only thing that can make this any better is using it and seeing its character develop over the years.
Congratulations.

Saw the "NZ1" at the Lloyd show. Nice! I'd be afraid to take it out and get it dirty, though.

Love the lines of those stocks, from the pistol grip back. Like the grip cap and butt plate too. The forend though, looks to me like it's off a different gun. Just a little too fat for my eye.

I am still pondering a Cooper 38 in 17AH, though. Damn you Silverback! :D

Cheers
