SHOT SHOW 2011 - Mare's leg rifles by Puma

I'd love a .357 to match my 16" Rossi but there's no way I'd pay more than the full sized gun. That would be dumb.

Mmmm - depends if you're paying by amount of material used or purpose served. This one is more versatile in dense woods and for bush carry, AND looks amazing.... so in that respect, should be worth more. It's all about perspective:redface:

Basically the smallest gun you can legally carry.

I hope someone has plenty of drop-leg holsters ready for sale.

Compact and non-restricted????

Defiantly gonna keep an eye on this model.

However I can certainly see the RCMP "changing thier mind" on this matter and 6 months after buying one finding it changed to "restricted" status.

This would make a pricey (but compact) lever gun become a restricted, range use only safe queen worth much less than initial price.

dont worry about it buddy there are plenty of mares legs already in the country non-res. its not a semi auto and therefore is not an evil baby killer lol

if it was restricted due to being under 26 inches , put a normal butstock on it and boom it is now several inches over the magic number and nonrestricted .

So I was looking online and found there is a drop leg holster for the mares leg replica for 80USD. Im just wondering if it will fit the rossi version and if the fake cartriges it comes with come out? Also I saw some custom made drop legs for 300ish but if I get one of these I wont be spending that much on a holster.

" That is a very cool looking gun but I am not a fan of the stock. I would like to get on a put a Winchester 94 full stock on it and see what it looks like. "

Yeah; I'd love to see what one actually looks like with a full stock (and a normal sized lever).

I think aftermarket stocks will be a big seller. You could probably switch back and forth easily enough. Put on the full stock for accurate shooting, or the shorty for easy carry.

The oversized lever looks like sasquaches ####.... i like the rest of it though.

When the Dominion Arms Outlaw came out I knew I had to have it. I'd wanted that exact gun since I was a kid.

Got one, shot it for a couple of months, totally got it out of my system, sold it, don't miss it.

This is probably gonna be the same deal, but way more expensive to get into. Experiments like that are fine when they cost a couple hundred bucks. Not so much when they cost a grand or so.

Gave this some thought....... what if someone made a metal dovetailed or twist lock buttplace so that a longer butt stock could be locked on?

Thinking something like a T lock with the female end on the shortened butt stock attacked to the gun, and the male end on the butt stock with the butt plate on it. And voila - mares leg or super carbine!
