I'm looking for a picatinny rail for a rem 700 short action: I will be using a leupold mark 4 over it with high rings.
Do you suggest extended or regular?
Do I have to take +20 MOA?
Will be used for target shooting over 300 yards and varmiting

Do you know where can I find it? and price-quality suggestion.
Thanks

I've got TPS rails on my Remingtons with Mark 4s. TPS super low rings work OK, since rails are so thick that there is all kinds of clearance from them alone. I've sometimes been able to run 50 mm objectives in low rings with more conventional (read lower) bases as well.
There are a lot 20 MOA rails sold for combos that don't need them. Without knowing which Mark 4 you have, I can say that mine have 90 MOA of adjustment. Even if you can only use 40 of that, it may take past any shooting you'll do with a 220 Swift.

I have the exact same scope on my 700. I have a Near 20moa base which is extended and Near low rings. You dont need the extended base, there is lots of room to mount your rings. With high rings your scope will have tons of clearance.

That scope has a lot of elevation so you do not need a 20 moa base.

Remington pic base

I think the best bang for the buck right now (as long as you want a 0 MOA) has got to be the Weaver Tactical extended pic base. It's plenty strong and cheap, I picked one up from LeBaron for liks $35.00. Rifleman.

David,
talk to Mysticplayer from MysticPrecision, he is our dealer on CGN. I have ordered Farrell 20MOA for my Milspec rile.

Good Luck

Have a look at Alberta Tactical Rifle Supply & Near Manufacturing rails. I say keep it Canadian as much as you can.
