Looked at getting one about 3 years ago. Was told no Russian military hardware sales, and the SV99 qualified as a military rifle 
. Some guys in the states have made mock ups with the IM-2 (Not sure if I got the model right) which I recall was a civilian rifle for biathlon. The Izmash Biathlon models were once sold in Canada, but no longer and very expensive if you can find one.
There was some talk about getting them in, but at $900 each for the civilian biathlon model, well I'll be passing. Still would love to have a SV-99 though.

Teapot, is that scope forbidden too, or can it be imported!
I don't care about the mount; what gets me is the small size of the optics.
