Montreal Indoor Challenge 2011

I like random draw prize tables. Not prize tables for finish. Unless I win of course! Lol

Either I limp wrist or JP has a death grip on that gun

Looks like he's shooting airsoft!!

I need to hit the gym or something.

Yeah, I set myself up for that one.
Could be worse I guess...thankfully I don't have a thing for lobsters at 100kph!!

Thanks very much to the guys from IPSC Quebec, CRAFM and of course, Frank.
I have yet to miss an MIC, and would be very upset if I ever did, it's a great match - friends & fun stages - you can't ask for more.

I had an awesome squad who were a great bunch to shoot with to boot!

I want to clear something up - I went minor at the chrono and a couple people mentioned to me that the chrono might have been slow, but I can guarantee you that it was right on.

I checked my ammo against another CED, a Pact and a Chrony back home at my personal range on Monday
(It's nice to have your own range :D) and they all agreed it was I who screwed up at the press.

A great time as always, and without a doubt - I'll be back next year - with better ammo, though!

I wonder about Chrono as well.
I have passed Chrono but on low mark, but my good friend failed.
We were wondering why??
And maybe ammo seating in the trunk, in this cold wintry Montreal could become slower on chrono.
When I used to shoot Benchrest, I was testing 'cold' ammo against normal temp. and noticed the difference. "Cold" always has lower velocity.

Should have kept a few random rounds warm in your pocket. :)

With 4756 I always factor higher in the cold, enough that I have to keep a winter load handy for cold ranges. In 2009 I was over 1500fps with a 125 gr bullet at the Triangle match for a nearly 190PF, normally that load shoots around 174 PF in the summer.

I shot higher than normal over the chrono. I know a few people shot lower, watching them be tested, I saw a few hits going through the cardboard target in front of the chrono. that can often screw readings up, as the bits of cardboard are read instead of the bullet. Thankfully the hole was made bigger in the target and stopped that from being a possible issue.
I checked my powder when I got home, and the Dillon is now throwing slightly over what I want, 0.1gr more actually. Probably due to different powder density

MIC2011CIM

101 Competitors attended the MIC2011 – WOW! - THANK YOU!!

I am sorry for the slight delay getting this out there.
I took a few days off to recoup and then a few days at the office to try & catch up.

There is so much planning and organization that goes on before, during and after a match of this magnitude. We are so grateful to everyone involved at every level.

We are overwhelmed and grateful for all the positive unsolicited comments & support from most of you that attended the match.

I cannot Thank Guy, Bob and all the rest of the crew enough.
They put on an incredible & challenging match.
I consider myself honoured and lucky to have all of these individuals amongst our membership base and knowing that we can count on their support.

The RMs, CROs, ROs & helpers did a fantastic job running the match and keeping everything under control.
We had several ROs and helpers that did not even shoot the match but came in to help us run the match as well as the BBQ – This is so appreciated by everyone involved with the MIC2011

As announced we had some of the best shooters that Canada has to offer from Coast (BC) to Coast (NS), as well as an occasional American, a large number from Ontario and the majority coming from all over Quebec – names that are completely new to me/us – means that our sport is growing – this is GREAT news!!

Please do not forget our valued sponsors; they made the prize table at the MIC2011 the largest we ever had, please remember them when it is time to make your next purchase.

The Lucky Winners!
The CZ SP-01 Tactical in 9mm that we decided to Raffle off, was won by Christian P and I am proud to announce that we raised $1040 for Breast Cancer Research.

The individuals that won the firearms from the prize table:

CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical in 9mm – Henri C.
CZ75 SP-01 Tactical in 40S&W – Philip L.
Ruger 22 – Walter P.
Smith & Wesson M&P9 – Guy G.
Remington 1911 R1 – Bob R.

Again, I would like to Thank all of the Volunteers, RMs, CROs, ROs, Helpers, Competitors & Sponsors for their continued support the last 5 years that have made the MICs what they are today.

Looking forward to the MIC2012!
