Sig 550

Canadian SAN rifles used to come with a photocopied SIG 550/551 manual.

They are no longer included. I heard the RCMP gave R. Nicholls crap for it, the 550 being prohibited and everything.

I got a newly imported SAN rifle last summer. Still had the 550 manual come with it.

OMG!!!

Did you notice that on the Wolverine pricing page they list this rifle as (wait for it)...

a 550:eek:

They even have a 552:eek::eek:

Any of you want to call up John and correct him?

wow. did i ever open a can of worms on that one. yes im canadian, yes my manual says its a 550, but that being said, i was wrong, it is in fact a PE90 my bad. but ill have you know the only differnce between a 550 and PE90 other than the stamp, is 550 has an alum. receiver and a slightly differnt trigger assembly that allows for full auto to be installed. i may be a little wrong as the info came from a guy whos hasnt worked at the factory for many years. either way though, i got some good answers guys thanks, this thing is gonna be epic.

p.s. Ive never played counterstrike

Technically it isn't a PE90 either - the PE90 is the semi auto version of the 550 (variant). The Swiss Arms is actually a rifle you can only get in Canada.

If you are going to nit-pick then nit pick.....
Technically the "swiss arms" refers to a manufactorer that produces prohib's and non-res guns. Like the PE90 (in you opinion prohib) or the "classic green" so could you please specify
"classic Green" or "black special" otherwise the anti's will come confiscate our rifles....

SIG-Sauer PE90 SPECIAL EDITIONS

There are 2 special editions: the PE90 (known worldwide as SG550) BLUE STAR (with blue finish) and BLACK SPECIAL (with black finish).
PE stands for Personal Einzelfeuer (German words meaning Personal, Single Fire ) These special editions are not capable of full auto fire.
These weapons are sold only for export.

I bet he has a Swiss Arms Black Special... Like this... (notice the PE designation on the reciever)

The PE is on the lower - on these rifles (Blue Smurfgewehr, Black Special, Classic Green, Red Devil and Heavy Metal - so actually 5 original special editions) the lower is not the gun (or the receiver), the lower is a parts assembly and the upper is the gun. Confusing isn't it.

Just recieved mine in the mail today.

It is a neat system, does not just bolt on like most rails, it has an extendable bolt that friction locks it in place.

Worth the money. :)

I will snap some photos for you.

Which rail system is this that has this friction bolt? Got a pic?

The only B&T rail I have seen didnt have a adjustment, I always thought they needed something like that to take the wiggle out.

Maybe this is a new design?

I think he means the lock screw on the top that stops the main tightening screw (that locks into the rear sight base) from loosening up when shooting.

Yes. Better worded then I did it.

It is the standard rail. I just thought the mechanism was neat, I had never seen a rail like that before is all. :)
