$250 swiss k31... good deal or not?

I took 2 pics of this 1953 k31 when it came in the mail.... good thing the bore was like glass... Then I thought to myself..... It's time to get to work..
after 3 days of stripping and sanding, blueing & 6 coats of garnet shellac,(Flake form). the real journey can begin.

The wood was oxidized badly.... Blueing was good except on the muzzle and 1 0f the barrel bands

Some guys like them that way too.... I almost left it alone....However I bought it to refinish..

Besides the swiss soldiers NEVER kept there rifles uncared for... the condition I received it in, is the result of not being treated correctly before it was put into storage.
