Tokarev scope

I am hoping someone can and will do a bit of measuring for me. Googling and using the search on CGN hasn't helped with an answer. The original style of scope mount that fits in the rails on a SVT 40 receiver apparently fits a Tokarev scope. Numerous sites say the rear of the tube is a bit larger than the front. What I would like to know is what the actual diameters are. Is the tube larger than a standard one inch diameter tube on a modern scope? If so, I can lathe up bushings to make a standard scope fit. I'd rather have a short new scope than something refurbished from the 1940s at considerable expense.
Numerich has a mount available for a reasonable price. Yes, I know the receiver cover will have to be notched for the locking pin. I can do that.
Thanks in advance for the help.

From front to back on an original SVT scope on a pu mount:

26.48 mm (front lens to stepped portion between knobs)

28.70 mm (between 2 knobs)

26.43 mm (from knobs to first step at back end)

28.44 mm and 29.76 mm (last step to rear lens)

There is a distinct difference between the PU scope that fits the MN mount and the one that fits the Tokarev mount. Also, be careful buying a cheapy Tokarev mount as I have spent hours fitting a scope into a mount that was one pi** poor casting.

What are the Inside Diameters for the scope rings on your SVT40 Mount?

Check this out too as it shows SVT scopes and SVT mounts.

Original SVT-40 Tokarev mounts were Machined. You get what you pay for.

I don't know what the I.D.s of the rings for a Tokarev mount are. I haven't bought one yet. I want to make sure I can adapt a new scope to the original mount before I spend the money for one.
Haven't read about the sh1tty castings, but it makes sense. You do get what you pay for. Something to watch out for.
With the diameters posted, I think it's a do-able thing, providing the repro mounts are decently made. Have to quiz Numerich about fit and finish. Thanks for the info, measurements, and the link. I'll check it out.

A PU scope (original) measures 26.5 mm Diameter front and just under 29 mm Diameter (28.9 mm) on the back half, should you adapt one. Good luck with the project.
