Rossi Ranch Hand Mares Leg Rifle

I thought these rifles should have their own thread, for shipment updates and price updates etc. ( I am copying this thread from wanstalls section to inform people of this rifle in case they could use one).

For those of you that dont know, the rossi ranch hand is a mares leg rifle with a 12 inch barrel and cut down butt stock and has an OAL of 24".

Gary (from wanstalls) recently informed us that these rifles have been classified as non-res and has an order coming in of 44magnum, 357magnum/38spl, and 45LC

$650 is the ESTIMATED price these will be coming in for and we can only hope it is less than or equal to that.

I am looking forward to purchasing one as it will make for the perfect bush gun for animal defense, and will be just a handy little rifle to carry around the farm.

I think these rifles will be a popular item and I appreciate Gary and wanstalls going through the trouble to bring them into the country!

yea, it will be nice to be able to have something relatively light and powerful for bush carry that any ol fella can have.

these are all hype, you can't be Josh Randle no matter how hard you try, they are a total waste of $$ afaiac....get a good marlin cowboy if you want something easy to shoot and with it you might actually hit something...

well if someone can hit targets at 150+ yards with this rifle that is all I am looking for, for some it will be a fun plinking novelty type thing, and for me it will be both that and the next best thing to a handgun for bear defense since we cant bush carry. (well most of us cant).

It seems to me as though the stock is cut down so much that it will be impossible to shoulder, in which case I would like to see it with a pistol grip stock for easier firing

i can't see why a person can't take a normal looped lever and swap the large loop out .

yea you can do exactly that. I like it for that "dead or alive" novelty haha

I'd buy one just to fit it with a proper stock and lever, a 12" barreled Trapper would be right handy !

there seems to be a demand both for the short stocked version and a demand for a longer stocked version. if you already have a rossi lever, the stocks must be interchangeable.

I have a 16" trapper rossi and I have a hard time imagining a handier gun-
besides a handgun

Looks a lot smaller to me.

However 24' is definitely "non-restricted" since it's way over the 26" OAL required for that classification.

because it is not a semi auto and comes that length from the factory, it still classifies as non-res.
