friend of mine looking for some info on the thread pitch of M1A (standard) and Norinco's M305 ( metric ) .any input would be helpful ,thanks

Not sure what you are looking for......the stock m-305 has splines at the muzzle for the flash eliminator.....after a barrel chop the comman thread pitch installed is 28x1/2 for muzzle brakes...

Is it the gas lock thread pitch you are asking about as it is different than the USGI version ?

USGI and M1A barrel/castlenut thread specs are
.595-32 NS - 3A
major dia. .5950" (-) .0060
pitch dia. .5747" (-).0027
minor dia. .5087" max

don't have specs for you for chinese metric measurments
and if the above is wrong hehhehe don't blame me LOL I need glasses and the numbers on my drawings are very tiny :D

Sounds like he is asking for castle nut thread pitch. M14doc is right that .595 x 32 is the standard USGI but I also don't know what the metric spec is. I'd guess that someone would need to slap a thread gauge on there.

I think the norc gas lock thread is 17X1. I have it written down at work, I just know I haven't been able to find a tap that size (was going to make a Gaslock front sight but having to buy a tap isn't worth it)
