What are the hardest to find Red Rifles in Canada?

Valmets are legal but pricey. Someone is trying to sell an M78 and a Hunter right now on Gun Nutz. However here are the price tags:
M78 $5100
Hunter $3900
You could buy two cz's and a fine hunting rifle with European optics for the price of a Valmet.
I guess it all depends on how much someone wants to pay to have a non-restricted AK action.

In the stuff you can actually own these days, I'd say SVT38. Never actually seen one in the flesh, and don't recall any of them ever hitting the E&E either. That tells me there are VERY few of those kicking around in Canada.

there was one for sale in an edmonton shop a few years ago.

That is great eos, can you post a pic or two if you got them? Someday I will stumble across one, keep watch at gun shows.

Here it is:

It kinda looks like a Chinese but the bolt handle is different and the spike bayo is painted. The vent holes on the hand guard look bigger too.
Thanks for the pic. I will be able to spot one from a distance now.

noticeable differences to the chinese would be carrier, mag and extra long stock and wood on the top cover .

very nice eos.

I'd love one of these too.

Can anyone on CGN confirm ever seeing one of these in Canada? I'm curious now too.

Rashid, MAYBE?

I know the United Arab Republic wasn't exactly Red, but they entertained for a while some very cordial relationship with the Russians.
So, if we admit the Rashid was a mixmaster of ideas from many sources including the SKS and Ljungmann, put together on paper by a Swedish engineer, shooting the ComBloc M-43 ammo and meant to be used by "friends of USSR" nations (Syria and Egypt) can it qualify as a "Red Rifle"?
Because it is a rare rifle now, having been produced in numbers between 8 and 10,000 total.

PP. :D

BTW, if you would like to see a full posting on that rifle, including takedown, just tell me, it's already on a French-speaking site.
