Went out to the range to try some new loads. I cleaned the barrel so I had to let off a few fouling shots. Once the barrel fouled, I was extremely impressed by the accuracy I was getting. Thanks to Cyanide, I increased a powder charge and it produced some great results. This is all using fresh Nosler .260 brass that hasn't even been fireformed yet. I can't wait to see what it does after neck sizing, outside neck turning and using my micrometer seater. 5 shots under 1/2 MOA. Center to center is .401" @ 100 yards. Here's the picture. I'm going to tinker with this load a bit but am happy I am producing results like this so far. This was shot using 6.5mm 142 gr. matchkings out of my .260 rem with a 28" shilen barrel. The twist rate is 1:9 and so far seems ok flinging the heavier guys.
It's good to see that I didn't "pull" any shots
I will be testing these loads @ 300m as soon as my range gets re-certified for that distance. Until then, 100 yards is all I got until I make it out to my quarter section.
Thanks to Sean @ North Shore Barrels for the awesome barrel.
