T3 Aluminum Bolt Shroud

Got mine the other day. Turned it the wrong way cracked a perfectly good plastic shroud, had to do a search on how to reverse what I had done. Once I turned it the right way and installed Flicks nice new one everything was good and it looks and fits great.

But that's exactly why you bought the aluminum shroud, the OEM part is a POS!

Just got mine. Very well built!!! TOP CRAFTSMANSHIP!!!

Thank you for the kind words, and also for the comprehensive set of pics!

Thank you everyone for the positive comments - that's really what makes this worth it.

Flick - any thoughts on making one for the A7 ?

I haven't seen an A7 up close, so I don't know what I'd be dealing with. I did the m595/695 version because someone local (pilgrim, here on CGN) who was interested in having it done provided a sample, and it turned out to be a trivial modification of the T3 shroud. If the situation with the A7 were similar I'd be more than happy to do it but, again, I'd need someone to provide a sample, and if it turns out to be significantly different then it would be a no go... the A7 just hasn't been popular enough to warrant doing it from scratch, and I think it's been discontinued now?

Thanks for the reply....I think I asked you once before about it, and you said very much the same thing.....I only know of one person with the A7, a buddy of mine actually he purchased it from out west, but I doubt he will give up the end to just get one done, but I could ask.....

if you did this on a CNC machine,,,,well I am sure your not going to give out the coding, and I wouldn't expect you to.....I do have access to a CNC turning center....maybe I give it a shot on some cold boring day.....

the A7 discontinued, probably by now,,,,there was talk about doing just that...lack of interest in the rifle....

Works ok in my LH T3 Lite.

Received my shroud today; took 30 seconds to install it on my LH T3 Lite. I have not noticed any issues with bolt function in my gun.

Closer inspection showed no difference in critical dimensions from the polymer factory shroud.

Looking forward to other offerings when Flick brings them forth.

Got my shroud yesterday. Looks great, hope to install today. Lots of new stuff showed up at the same time, got a reamer from PTG and calf out at the barn. Now if spring would show up life would be good. Almost forgot to say thanks to Flick, nice work.

Flick you have done a very professional job and made a lot of Gunnutz happy.
I have installed my own and am very pleased with quality of work.
Thanks again.

I received my shoud today and my t3 looks even better. The reason I was keen to have one of these is 2 years ago I had a t3 in 223. I had the experiance of piercing a primer on a S&B round. The resault was the shoud hitting me in the face, hard enough that it would have caused eye damage had it hit me in the eye. The Canadian suppiler for Tikka sent me a new one free of all charges asap( which was customer service %110). I was dissapointed by the factory product but I was not ready to ditch my tikka's. My fears have been removed, Flicks aluminium shroud is a cosmetic, durability, AND safety upgrade big time! and he's a Canadian making aftermarket parts for guns:Dx10

Thanks Flick,

rf.

Dude, I can never tell with you, but I seriously hope you're kidding about the hammer...?

If not, send it back, I'd like to examine/replace it.

lam shroud

Thanks Flick...
Fit was almost perfect. Colour was almost perfect. Just need a couple of little tweaks and you got yourself the best aftermarket shroud out there.

Not sure if it`s been done already as i didn`t go back over all the posts, i weighed my new shroud it`s 205.7grs. the factory plastic one was 100.2grs. Just a little more than double, but at 105.5grs. more i guess i can live with it . Nice work Flick.
