Shortmag myths

No...
That one is not for sale..
It is my favorite wood/blued rifle..

However I would consider trading the other one for a Remington Ti in 7SAUM.. :)
Or a Kimber 8400 Montana in 7WSM..

i had a remington sendero in 7mm saum, and found that when cycling after the first shot, the bolt would glide over the second round, not picking it.

upon testing with dummy rounds i found that the short, heavy case would tip downward at the rear of the case, causing the bolt to not catch it and scratching the case in the process.

i first tried building up the feed ramp at the back as it didn't support the case all the way back, the support stopped about 1/2" from the rear of the mag, i used jb weld and molded it into the shape of the feed ramp, but that didn't fix it.

i ended up adjusting (ie: bending) the mag box spring so that it would push more at the rear of the feed ramp and that fixed it.

i miss that rifle and wish i never sold it :(

it kicked like a baby, but that may have been the heavy barrel and stock absorbing the recoil as it didn't have a recoil pad, just one of those flat hard rubber 1/4" thick pads :)

I have a 300WSM (Abolt) and a 270WSM (M70) and both have no feeding issues. Very pleased with my WSM's. A little different...but I can still get ammo in almost any store including Walmart and CT if I had to.

My stainless 700 BDL in 7 SAUM was doing the same thing, a quick tweek of the spring and no more problems.

No, I don't have much use for a wood/blue Brno 7x57.

I've already got a Remington Ti in .260 that would do the same job.;)

Comparing a 7mm to a 260...Comparing a Brno to a Remington... This brutal Winter has been hard on us all but that's like putting a cooey against a Perazzi.

Yeah, I agree. The Reminton Ti and .260 is a far superior hunting rig than a Brno and 7x57.:owned:

.............................[edit]........................ By chance are you a Remington Rep. ? Someone has to be. Remington has had nothing but bad press lately. Nice to see your loyal to a Company that all they seem to manufacture is crap. CZ/ Brono vs Remington not even a contest.

........[edit]........... Arent' you the guy that still believes that a 25WSM was a factory produced cartridge? Aren't you the guy that thought that the WSM's were fading away?:p

You ever hunted with a Remington Ti or a Brno rifle in steep, wet, thick coastal mountains?

I have used both and the Ti is far superior.

I don't like Mountains. They are to steep for me.
Remington has never made anything better than CZ/ Brno, give your head a shake.
And I would take a Brno in 7x57 ( or anything else) long before I would consider anything from Remington.
Please forgive me I like Metric Cartridges.

I kinda fall in with the wsm and 260 lovers here. I have a 300wsm and have not had 1 single issue with this cartridge, feeding/reloading/accuracy and dead right there performance. I also have a 260 and the same can be said there, accurate, easy to reload, and kills just as dead as the 300. The biggest differance between them is I have more faith in the killing ability of the 300 at longer distances (400+ yards).
