Shortmag myths

I don't like Mountains. They are to steep for me.

Then you wouldn't understand the appeal of a rifle built for steep, rugged conditions.

Remington has never made anything better than CZ/ Brno, give your head a shake.

That is your opinion, and considering that you were so ignorant about other topics, we have to assume your opinion on this is suspect as well.;)

Please forgive me I like Metric Cartridges.

I like them all.

I like the metric 6.5x51 aka .260, too.:p

Suspect? You like American Rifles And American Cartridges I don't ( unless it's a pre 64 model 70) In 7x57 ;) But to go on & on about the 260 Rem as compared to a 7x57 Brno is just stupid. Do you reload?

Your opinion is even more suspect with that last statement. It demonstrates that you refuse to look at things objectively. You just "don't like American"

Sorta like your "gut" feeling that the WSM's were fading out whereas the actual facts are just the opposite.:p

The 6.5x55, .260, 7-08 or 7x57 will all perform equally on game. There is nothing that I would shoot with one but not shoot with the others, nor is there any shot I would take with one that I wouldn't take with the others.

Do you reload?

I answered that question on this thread a long time ago. I guess your comprehension skills are as poor the rest of your knowledge demonstrated on this thread.

What I like is you would still pick a Remimgton over a CZ/ Brno. You should get out more. And stop reading Remington ads. Are you a dealer?

I have a 300WSM (Abolt) and a 270WSM (M70) and both have no feeding issues. Very pleased with my WSM's. A little different...but I can still get ammo in almost any store including Walmart and CT if I had to.

I agree...My custom Mdl 70 300WSM has no feeding issues either. Nor do my friends factory made WSM's I've loaded for.

I think that a few of the original rifles had some feeding issue, but it was quickly sorted out. Feeding is usually a rifle problem, not a cartridge problem.

you're right, the 260, 6.5x55, 7-08, and 7x57 are essentially the same. but everyone knows that the bolt action was perfected in 1898.

i think he has a man-crush on you or wants to have a bromance, or maybe take a turn at being the little spoon.

From the length of time he has kept the photoshop on his computer, I wouldn't rule anything out.

I actually prefer CRF rifles for the most part, but the Rem Ti does fill a niche for me. As an actual hunting rifle, it works quite well.

There were compromises made in the designs of both the WSM and the 300 Win mag in order to fit them into magazines which were shrter than the cartridges really needed. The standard throating dimension for both cartridges necessitates deep seating of heavy bullets, mag length notwithstanding.
The feeding issues which exist with some WSM rifles are the result of the factories trying to take the cheap way to get them to function. The magazines should have been made wider to accomodate the fat cartridges at the proper stack angle. Remington did the same thing with their Ultra Mags and many of them have feeding problems as well.
Not long ago, a friend of mine mentioned that he saw no need for anything larger then the 30/06 case if the caliber was under 338. I tend to agree with him.
I am not a fan of the WSM's but they have been well received by shooters and hunters who lack my maturity so I suspect they'll be around for a while. I continue to avoid owning one. Regards, Bill.

Classic Leeper...Love it.

Hey Gate,
Didn't he build your rifle? :D
