I just had an amazing day with a couple of awesome guys. We did not kill anything...other then several trees I suppose...but what a great day! These guys had me laughing for hours! We saw lots of tracks and dropings and I learned a lot...like how important cardio is as we trudged through several feet of snow. I don't think anything beats a day in the woods with a couple of great guys and loaded shotguns. Maybe killing something, but I don't know that yet lol

I am hooked!

Oh yeah...we drove past the area where CGN cleaned up at Nonquon and saw this car. Someone had written "Pedophile" on it and we thought it may be a CGNer!

I had an amazing day as well! Feel like doing it every Saturday with you guys! I cut/grinded that front ghost sight off of the barrel that I switched on my shotgun. I put the fiber sight on as I was very embarassed that you shot better than me!

My dog went right to his bed when we got home and slept until the next day. :D

Don't be embarassed. The secret is you have to slap it. I knew the first thing you were going to do was grind that sight lol

I think my moisture wicking undergarments improved my accuracy too :)

Looking forward to round 2 boys!

Speaking of round two! I am going to look a lot cooler.

That couldn't have been a hunting trip in Ontario as I don't see a stitch of blaze orange. Nice camo though, winter turkey season perhaps?? :D

It was Ontario. Small game and no season thus no orange.

From the regs...

Who has to wear Hunter Orange:

All licensed hunters, including archery hunters, hunting during the gun seasons for deer and moose. This also applies to hunters of small game (rabbit, fox, wolf, etc) and upland game birds (grouse, pheasant, etc.) during the open season for deer or moose.
All licensed hunters hunting black bear during the fall black bear season, except when in a tree stand. (This exception is in place because, unlike deer and moose, black bears have colour vision.)

Who does not have to wear Hunter Orange:

Waterfowl hunters, wild turkey hunters and archery hunters in archery-only areas.
Licensed individuals hunting deer or moose using archery equipment during the archery-only seasons for deer and moose.
Licensed individuals hunting small game or upland birds during seasons other than the open season for deer or moose.

Even if it was against the law, which as cbabes pointed out, it is not, how would the mnr find us? We are one with the trees in our camo...they would walk right past us. We had coyotes trip over our legs on several occasions.

Remember when the fox tried to take a pee on me. I feel bad for scaring the crap out of it!

Well I just learned something new, thanks.

I have never paid that close of attention to the regs I guess. Up here I just throw on the orange and head out, but most of my small game is shot while hunting moose and deer.

Looks like you all had a fun time.

As a forester I've done a far bit of cutover mapping by hand for my contractors. Bow season is always the hardest on the heart as I often walk within yard or two of a hunter without seeing them until they yell out scaring the crap out of me. Nothing like thinking your alone just to have someone stand up a few yards away. They always think its funny, me, less so.

The idea is funny...in practice that would scare the crap out of me! Lol
